Hello, I'm hal9000 and I've been really curious about EBMM since I played an Axis way back that knocked my socks off. I've been following this forum for a while and when I first saw the pic of the 20th Anniversary Silhouette, I knew it was likely the perfect guitar for me. So, I ordered one from Pete DuBaldo and I'm waiting patiently since mine has the piezo option which should put it at about the end of September.

Anyway, I play all kinds of guitar music, but my band (Afraid Dave - www.afraiddave.com) is mostly focused on alternative and modern rock. We play all around South Florida, but we recently lost our drummer since he moved back to Atlanta. So, we're looking for a new drummer.

You'll figure out soon enough that I like to draw and I do a lot of work for musicians, although my site is still under construction: www.64graphics.com. :) This is my main rig.

Here's the prototype I made of my 20th Silo with options:

So, if you guys would like to share your rigs and main guitars I’d love to see what you’ve got.

Thanks,

Welcome!

Now, tell us how you do those drawings! :)
Thanks! I draw everything from scratch, in either MS PowerPoint or Adobe Illustrator depending on the job. Everything above is PP. I stick to mostly vector-based work so everything can be scaled without losing definition.

Most all of my graphic design work is in Illustrator like logos and CD art, but PP is good for a few things even though it's cumbersome for most.

Cool pics. I was hoping to check out your music on your band's site, but the 2 samples went to files that aren't there any more. Bummer....
Thanks.

These are from a couple years ago when we still had out first Bassist. I'm on the right channel with my Mesa F-100 (Fat Strat), and my singer is on the left channel with his Hot Rod Deluxe (LP on Unbreakable and '57 RI Strat on Better Dead).

Unbreakable's intro: http://www.64graphics.com/Afraid Dave-01-Unbreakable intro.mp3

Better Dead's intro: http://www.64graphics.com/Afraid Dave-05-Better Dead intro.mp3

Our tones and tunes have changed a lot since then, and my singer dropped the HRD for a Marshall TSL 100/1960A rig for a couple of years, but now he's using a Mark IV/1960A rig which we both like much better. He's learned a few things about tone from me. :D

Here are a couple of other ones without the whole band (Mesa F-100):

That's the Home Brew Electronics Germania Treble Booster.

It's a clone of the Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster Treble Booster from the '60s used by Brian May, Tony Iommi and Eric Clapton to name a few. It's basically an active filter instead of a distortion or overdrive box (it’s entirely clean sounding) in that it adds gain the higher the frequency. The end result is that for an already overdriven amp, it adds sustain in a unique way that other pedals can't really copy. I also use it to tighten my amp in the bass department when I'm playing really heavy riffs.

If you want to hear what it does, these two clips are exactly the same patch with the difference being the Germania (I’m using my Tonelab here on the Recto model):

1) Unboosted: http://www.64graphics.com/COC It is that way.mp3
1) Germania: http://www.64graphics.com/COC It is that way Germania.mp3

Yup, the drawings are all in PP, however, the quilted top and cloth material are renderings from another photo program.

Eilif's rig:

1) EBMM Axis SS HH w/ piezo
2) EB instrument cable, 20' length
3) Mesa F30 1x12

Not considered a part of the rig, but an important piece of equipment nonetheless, is the lock on the bedroom door which keeps my 5-year-old and my 2-year-old out of the room and, therefore, from trying the push buttons and pluck strings while Daddy is playing. ;)

Thanks fellas. I appreciate the warm welcome.

Koogie2k: I already have plans for a Radiance Red Luke. Somebody stop the madness...

Elif, that's a kickin' rig. When I first tried an Axis, it was through an F-30 1x12. If you ever have the chance to audition a Mesa Thiele 1x12 cab, it goes perfectly with the F-30 and adds a ridiculous amount of tight bass.

Have you tried my low volume mod yet?

How about these settings?

Nice rig! Nice Adobe-ing! So what's your fascination with 2001?

That's pretty interesting stuff there Hal. I've been considering a F series amp, 50 or 30, leaning a bit towards a 30 because I don't want to blow the house down. Later on I can just add the extra cab. But with the mod you just showed maybe a 50 will work...........I believe in my search of F series info in the past I've come across your info on Harmony Central. There are some pretty cool F series setups over there.

Ha ha… Actually, it's my singer's deal. He came up with the name, and I adopted my moniker as an allusion to my band. I do like 2001 through, and the book was really cool.

BTW, all the stuff you see above was PowerPoint. I do use Illustrator a lot, just not usually for rigs.
