Hi Glen

I'd sure like to find some Ernie Ball flats or coated bass strings at some of the Southern California stores.

Sounds as if you will need to do a pre and post tour weigh in Glen. :)

Here is an example of marketing genius of GC at work. BP Steve Morse and Luke di a little show and tell tour as you probably well know. I only have 1 geetar but at the event I though I would have an oppurtunity to obtain and have personalized a Steve Morse model by the man himself.

The GC didn't have one and Steve and BP said something to the effect only one store had one.

Now I am no marketing rocket scientist but you have a geetar god coming in and there is a signature model of his on the market, there will be folks, like me, that would buy it that day for the artist to sign.

Don't think I will ever get that chance again. :( Swear on my eyes, had there been a Steve Morse model there that night I would have bought it!

I've been wanting to try out/perhaps buy (?) a Sterling 5 HS for quite some time, yet GC doesn't list any HS models on their website (neither does MF, for that matter).

???

Harrisburg, Pa here! Let me know when/if you ever decide to come to the armpit.;) Our GC here has maybe 8 Music Man basses, one Stingray 5H and the rest are 4 string Sterlings and Stingrays. No Bongos, no Big Al's, no anniversary or special additions. The only Bongo I ever came in contact with here was a used 5HH model in a small local shop. Loved it! but didn't have the funds handy to walk it out the door. I have no hope of ever seeing a Big Al unless I drive a couple hours away.

In fact, all the stores in this area mostly carry low end Ibanez, Fender, and Yamaha and very very few higher end basses.:(

Please help all you can!

Big Al is on the way to the Harrisburg store! I got confirmation today. It will probably take a couple weeks to get there. Just check in with the guys at the store.

Hi, Glen! Drop me a line when you get to the Chicago area - I'll show you some real pizza.

I'll be there at the end of the month. I'll let you know what stores I'll be at when I'm there...

Thx!

Hey Glen, we got you in Knoxville!

One observation off the bat was a complete lack of 25ths or Big Als at the platinum store in Nashville... That really surprised me. Our GC in Knoxville usually has about 3 EBMM basses, all Stingrays... Maybe 1 Sterling by MM Ray.

Other than that I would love to see the Bongo make a "come back tour" in the stores.

Take care and best of luck!

There should be a Big Al in Nashville now. I think it's black with a tort pg. I checked with Mark the GM last week to make sure it got there...

Regular Slinky coated should be in all the stores. We're working on getting the Super Slinky in there as well.
I saw some flats in Sherman Oaks a couple weeks ago. I'll check on what's going on with them as far as stocking levels.

I'm right there with ya Jim. We're going to do our best to make sure hiccups like this don't happen. We will continue to do events like the one you attended. Hopefully, we will be able to provide you another chance one day..

I'll look to see if there is something in the chain some where and try to get it sent to a store near you to check out. What store are you the closest to?

The nearest GC to me is in Greenwood, Indiana. Or the Castleton store if that would be easier.

Thanks!

All this information, and nobody bothered to ask Glen if he's a bassist or one of those weird skinny stringer guys... :)

Does it matter??? Regardless of what he plays, we'll convert him to a Bongo and that will be that!
