A short time ago one of the forum members had just had a baby, and just got an Axis guitar and I questioned where the volume knob was, because the only knob said tone. Now i'm confused.

That was me! I bought an EVH in Sunburst Quilt.

On the EVH guitars, Tone = Volume

Todd, under the locking nut, a small piece of metal can be placed to raise the nut up just a little bit. This is called a Shim. That should solve your light buzzing. ;) I will take a picture and send you an email from home later today.

I would seriously have another tech take a look at it. I have never brought a guitar with issues to my friend Mike and not walked out with everything perfect. If you needed a fret dressing you would see wear =grooves or gouges in the frets that would cause you issues. I am kind of bewildered why he advised against a set up, and agree with Tommy that a shim should take care of the buzzing.
