Investment or Enjoyment??

Into todays world I'd agree, Although I did recently Sell 120 Vintage Basses and came very close to a Mil, I avoid Stocks Big time but that's just me. I do way better in Vintage guitars. But New and rare today will mean 30 years from now to be worth investment level and if your 21 that's great, but some of us are not.

I do play everyone of my Ernie Ball basses may take a year to go round the heard but they do get Played

I think it's safe to say that you are the exception to the rule.

120 vintage Fender=investment


1 bass is not 120 vintage Fenders.

Gig it - I think that in say 40 years time there will be so many closet guitars that the value will not be in line with say today's 50's Gibbie or Strat. - more people are now wise to it.

Gig it and get some Mojo into it. Your son will love it.

In about 10 years I'll be passing some of my guitars to my kids. My Les Paul is beat to cr4p! - but I damn well enjoyed the experience !!

Gig the damn thing, it's an instrument. I have a 54 acoustic Gibson from my dad (he got it when he was 14), and I play it all the time. It will go to my son when he's old enough. It would mean much less to me if I was afraid to play it...

I won and still have the amps...

you just made me realise how cool it will be for my son to have a birth year bass, which means that the DD I have on order fits the bill perfectly. I'll play the crap out of it for 20 years and then he can love it after I've gone up the chimney.

Play it. I'm sure that sentiment has been expressed here but I would think your son would rather have a bass his daddy played out with and the more mojo the better....

buy anouther one. if not its a sin to keep an instrument locked away and not played . thats why they were made in the first place . if its locked up for years and years you probably open the case up and it will never be playable . instruments are like women , they need a firm hand , and love and attention.
