Just got back from two weeks in Ireland. My girlfriend's family is from there and still has the ole' farm that the grandparents and all zillion uncles and aunts grew up on.

I've always wanted to go, and have to say it exceeded my expectations. Gorgeous country, really friendly people. Travelled around quite a bit and loved everything I saw (especially my g/f's cousin's place- a few doors down from Bono and home to not one but two Ferraris ...).

Anyway, if y'all have the chance to visit it's truly gorgeous out there. And lots of sheep to boot.

...

To make this somehow guitar related ... I was traveling around the west coast (near Downpatrick Head). Turned on the radio ... first tune that came on was "Working On Love" by Albert Lee. Having just bought that CD at the clinic it was fresh in my mind ... what are the odds ...

Ooh. You got me. Ok that's tomorrow's project. Hopefully I didn't leave the bloody camera at the Guinness brewery or Jameson distillery ...

OT? I've always heard great things about that country, and I fully intend to get over there sometime.

I must agree with you Beej.

I've been to Ireland myself a few times... I have some friends who live in Belfast (that's Northern Ireland) and I've been there a few times. I've also been on the West Coast, which is really beautiful: blue oceans, amazing landscapes...

I'm actually planning on going there for Christmas Holidays... The Guinness alone would make it worth going!

I went to Kenmare near Killarney in the Republic of Ireland in 2003. Down in the South West corner. I fell in love with the place instantley. I'm determined to take the missus over there soon. A truly stunning place. These pics aren't great quality but they should give you a feel for the beautiful landscape. Enjoy! :)
