Is a BFR Albert Lee worth it (for me)

Hi guys and gals! As I value Your opinion on that very high, here is a question I want You to give me an honest opinion upon:

As You can see, I have a Non-Trem Morse and a 6-bolt SSS Silo (also non-trem).

I have now a possibility to acquire a BFR Albert Lee with a trem. I do love trems and I obviously do love SSS/Stratty sounds. Now the qeustion is - would a BFR Albert give me something tonally that my belowed silhouette and Morse don't have (the trem acrobatics put aside).

Aren't the SSS Silo (ash body, BTW) and the Albert too close to each other tonewise?

As You see, many questions and one confused Dmitry . Help me, please...

Hmmm. Tough one. I wasn't aware that the older Silo's had ash bodies. To me, the Silhouette is going to be the closest to the AL in terms of tones (more so than your Morse). So, then the BFR is going to give you the tone block. a maple top on ash body, Seymour Duncan pickups, and the AL's fantastic neck (that's a feel/comfort thing though). I'm assuming your Silo has Dimarzios - correct?

Again, a tough one. I'm sure you'd love the BFR AL and that its tones will have a unique place in your lineup.

First, let me state I never, unfortunately, played an AL, so I can't comment based on the sound. BUT: I always found that a different guitar (shape, in this case the mahogany toneblock, the different neckshape and importantly the trem) changed my approach to playing dramatically. A different axe always encourages me to explore into new realms, experiment with different sounds, amp-settings, etc. It made me evolve and grow as a player. So in that way I would say the AL would make an excellent addition to your pair of balls. Flavours and consequently inspiration, that's what it's all about once you enter Great Guitar territory.

Well your Morse is from 1994, your Silo from 1990 ... perhaps it's time to put some new blood in your arsenal.
If you really prefer single coils, do not hesitate, but if you want some change, perhaps you can you find an AL with HB (Knighton Music Centre has a nice own with a rosewood neck) :

Can't wait for a write-up on how you like the BFR Albert. May I ask where you got it from (tried to track one down in Europe recently, didn't find any)...I bet a million bucks you're gonna be in tone heaven once it arrives.

Sorry, it was not the lack of communication, I was travelling back the whole day from Portugal to Germany!

Your opinions highly valued, and You all generally just supported what I thought about this thing. It's interesting that I'm now getting an AL (a BFR Al at that), although I was actually going to try and track down an older JP7 with the original PUs and thought the AL was the one I would never even be able to try. But at this price and with this guitar I couldn't NOT go for it - so, well, yeah, "fast decision" was the exact way to describe it.

And, actually, it was my wife who decided it anyway - I show her all the guitars I'm GASing after, and she generally just states something about their looks. This time it was: "Oh, this time something Rocking, it looks Rock, You didn't have something like this before". (AL in pinkburst? Lovely, yeah, but rocking? but if a woman says so, rocking it is ). To put it into perspective - I've been through a lot of pets (BFR and standard, 6 & 7, all PU configurations), a couple of silhouettes (floyd, 6-bolt and modern time HSH), silo special, 2 20-th silos and Morses both with Floyd and non-trem. That's not to sound any arrogant - I never had them at once, and keep my electric guitars to a maximum of 3 at a time in the recent years.

To Coffee: I got it from E-Bay, from Spain, to be more precise. As soon as I get it, we can arrange something in K-Town to see and play it (and the older sisters) in person.
