If you let me know how the bass would need to be shipped over there, pm me and I'm sure we could work something out.

Hi! I have looked at the bass...its lovely! Its the right spec etc, but I think the shipping will be cost prohibitive and I wouldn't want to have both of us worrying about it landing here in one piece! I know things get shipped all the time but Im very cautious. Best of luck with the sale!

There are a few ways to lower the high cost of shipping from US to UK, but you gotta get creative or be willing to part with the hard case. That's what adds so much cost, the dimensions of the case.

That Sterling is beautiful... I've had every MusicMan bass I've owned shipped from the US from this forum, can't say I've had any problems. Never say never...

Heck, I got my second one just because it was the exact same paint as my new truck. Electric Blue HS5. The first was a Desert Gold HH5. The sound does differ some. Actually, the necks and nut on the two are TOTALLY different.

I would hold off on your second for now. Space apart the joy of getting a new axe over a longer piece of time. Also each bass gets a dedicated piece of time to be the new baby and get total attention.

Just my two cents.

Well, yeah, one's painted blue and the other one isn't.

Non-subjective proof would be of great interest. I have three Bongos from different years (05, 07 and 09) and they're all the same.

The matte finish does eventually get glossy from use, so they differ in that way because they don't all get the same amount of play time.

Sorry for too long to reply. I was on the road with family visiting Dear Ol' Mom and when I tried replying by phone it messed up.

Yes - the necks are radically different and so is the nut size. I put calipers on it and also got a second opinion from a luthier in the area.

I don;t want to hijack this thread so I will start another about the differences. But the message to the poster of this thread is that I would digest each bass and learn what I like or not before investng in another.
