For some reason, every stingray with a rosewood board feels quite a bit different to me that maple. Anyone else notice this, or is it all in my head?

Well, yeah, one is dark color while the other one is light. One sounds warmer, while the other one sounds brigther. . . Just kidding.

I'm with you. For some reason, I like maple-board EB/MMs a whole lot more than rosewood. . . the sound, the looks, and the "feel" I guess.

+ Another on the dark stage thing. This pic is from September, outdoors and dark as a cave nearly. I was gonna pack my Bongo but thought about the lights and decided on the Ray. No I am not an alien, evil beasty eyes are from camera flash which is all about the light there was! I killed that night, had I brought the Bongo it may have been a very long night.;)

I rarely look at the fretboard when i play, I am usually looking out at the audience or trying to catch the singtards eye so he does the right thing... If I do look down, I can see side dot markers, fret ends...and thats about it.... so it doesnt matter what the fretboard is made from. Do you guys tilt your basses up so you can see the fretboard or something?

Oh, come on! You guys look at your fretboards when you play?

You are supposed to be looking at your audience while extending your tongue out as far as it will go!

Amateurs!

I like the way this bass pops out a little on a dark stage.
