I use Firefox exclusively - not an MS fan. BP, are you accessing the site directly through your company intranet, or externally?

I'm wondering if we need to define 'slow' a little better. Many folks have said that they haven't had any problems. I can say that's true for me too - everything does work. It's just that the pages draw and load a little slower than most of the other websites I frequent. It's not what I'd call 'snappy'. Also from what I know from working with teams in India, I suspect that those outside North America would probably not notice this kind of a difference when comparing one NA site performance to another - it would get lost in other bandwidth issues.

Just my 2 cents...

It's definitely slow from outside networks and not browser-related.

If you traceroute to it from different networks you can see there's a lot of latency in the sl-ernbal-6-0.sprintlink.net (144.232.236.198) hop (looks to be a Cisco device, probably a router). I don't know what the infrastructure is like on the EB side, but the cause could be a few different things.

I have to agree. I tried a tracert yesterday and it timed out for every hop accept the last, of course, and it is only 12 hops for me.

Performance actually got better through the night with less traffic. About an hour ago it started slowing down again.

I don't know what you just said, but it impresses me!

It does seem to be load related; I'm guessing it's just bandwidth and not an app or routing issue. Some days it's great, some days it's slow.

I just noticed the same thing (same router and everything -- it seems to average around 800 MS latency) -- I wonder if EB's network is multi-homed, and one of the paths is a bit slow sometimes. That could explain why the site is lightning-fast for some, and not for others.

I am on 6mbps cable service, using Firefox on a fairly current PC and it is a little slow here and has been since I joined
