Rob that is a sick looking trio, it is as if they belong together. I know you waited quite awhile for that Luke, and all I can say is it sure was worth it. Now go rip it up!
Here is one more picture that I really like. Shows the color nicely without any weird reflections, and shows off the sexy curves for the LUKE.
I played the heck out of this guitar last night, and it just blows me away. I knew I had to get one again as soon as I sold my previous Carbon Blue LUKE couple years back. I personally love the EMGs in it, and they take all kinds of effects very well. The single coils are amazing from insanely chimey cleans to great shredding tones, and the 85 is nice and smooth for leads and crunchy enough for some heavy s***.
Congrats! You have an awesome collection. I love that color as well as the carbon blue yet for some odd reason have not been able to see either color in the flesh
Yea, both of these colors in person are amazing. I am a fan of darker colors with the pearl effect, and the Sapphire certainly has more sparkle quality than the carbon blue actually. But under stage lights or sun light, Carbon Blue really comes alive...it is a very magical sort of finish and the Sapphire Black also has these certain qualities to it as well. I've never seen such amazing paint jobs on any other guitar brands out there honestly. Plus these two complement each other so well next to each other.
The only reason I think that Carbon Blue was discontinued is because it is nearly impossible to photograph its amazing qualities...and people probably thought it was a boring flat dull color...which it is NOT.
Yea it is somewhat similar ily, but Sapphire Black is still darker and has hints of blue, gray and black all at once. Graph Pearl is really beautiful on the LUKE as well.
Here are couple of pics with the LUKE and Silo Special side by side. These are indoor shots, but I tried to show off the two distinct colors. Still nowhere near the beauty of them in person!
Oh, and I put on black Ernie Ball super locks...I think it looks awesome!
Thanks guys! They make me very happy. I cant stop playing the LUKE though at this point...so inspiring and my fingers just fly all over the place. I'm addicted to all 3 and I've been switching between them for fun, and they are all absolutely amazing.
This LUKE in particular sounds incredibly resonant and very loud, compared to my Silo Special. I also absolutely LOVE the slab of rosewood they put on this one.
I'm gonna see what kind of difference the solid saddles will produce even with the 9 strings. I usually play 10s on the other two, but I'm really liking the set-up of the LUKE the way it is now.
The color is freakin amazing in person...it really is more sparkly than some of the other pearl colors. Sometimes it can even appear to be a deep silver, blue ,purple, gray...it's magical hahaha.
I know 3 is not the end! I want a Y2D next!!! But the next thing is really a Axe Fx...wish I had the money for that right now.
