Hey everybody!

Long time no post!

I've never refretted a guitar nor have I had it refretted so I'm the last person to know when the time comes.

That's why I need some expert advice :)

Here's a pic of my 'worst' fret on my JP6.

I'm sure others will chime in, however a fret dress may be all you need at this point. My Axis has much more wear than yours and still plays well.

No way. Wait until the fret wear is noticeably affecting it's play, get the frets dressed, then wait again and the consider it at that time.

Several of my guitars show fret wear, they play fine.

Good luck.

You must play quite a bit in that key?? Look at the other two frets in proximity!

Never the less, before you do frets, it is normally preceded by a duration of time in which there are several dressings, individual fret tweaks, a little filing here & there, etc...... along the way. Unless you've gone through the paces you don't need frets.

Refret is last resort. A tech will level and crown frets first.

Ditto. They look fine to me, but if you get fret buzz due to the low frets that you can't dial out, then that would be the time to have a tech level your frets. You can do that a bunch of times before you'd need a full re-fret.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all of your responses! Like I said, I'm no expert so I had no clue.

I've never seen a black fret like that on a guitar, let alone an expensive guitar such as an EBMM but I'll let it be before I do anything.
