Last year while in the studio I was requested to change the battery in the active pickup on my Musicman S.U.B bass. After changing it, a slight smell of burning came from within the bass and no output to an amp other than crackling static when the volume was turned up.

Its sat in a case now, but I need to get it fixed. Any ideas or anyone had the same problem? Im guessing a component on the EQ board has gone maybe?

Anyway, any help would be great in aiding my local guitar store in the right direction as they are useless!

Cheers
