The JP6 is capable of insanely low action if setup correctly. You'll get some buzz but it will still play amazing. I have been spoiled by the action on mine! I've struggled with my PRS CE24 because I cannot get the action as low and it feels different. I've come to terms with the fact that the neck radius' are different so they have to be setup different...

It's not just the JP6. I bought my wife a Silhouette and the action on that is like buttah. Seriously, it's as low if not lower than my JP6.

The older I get the higher my action goes. I took lessons with George Bellas for a few years and man hes got some really really HIGH action! Its like set up for slide high! Id guess its somewhere around 3.5-4.0 MM high.

john likes his action REALLY low.I just got my setup on my Silverburst done by my tech and bought it to John's wife's gig.when john asked what i had in the gig bag,I pulled it out and he was checking it out.I believe this was the gig where i asked forum member petrucciRocks02 to come down and finally meet john.anyway after he played it uppulgged he asked if anyone had a screwdriver because he wanted to lower my action and play it with her band for that night.I was like what???
so yeah he plays his guitar with his action extremely low.

Very interesting. Did you keep it that way once he handed it back? If so, how low we talking?

This thread made me measure my action which I never really do anymore, I just get it as low as I can. I used to sit there with the ruler measuring and remeasuring my guitars with each turn of the truss rod and and bridge posts. Anyway, the action on my JP BFR 7 is at 1/32 on the treble side with no buzz and no fretting out.

I don't really have an appropriate ruler but I just used a pick (kinda crude but it gives an idea, ya know?) and my action holds a 0.73mm pick at the 12th and 24th - pushes the string up a little. I guess it's about 0.7mm? That's right about 1/32 right?

Yep, that's about right. I'd say you've got your action about as low as you could possibly want.
