Hey,
I got this brand-new JP7 last Wednesday, and opened the back plate yesterday for the first time... And found this:

1. What is this hole?
2. Can I be sure that the ding is merely cosmetic, and won't expend?

And... more of a personal question... how would YOU react, if you found this on a brand new Music Man?

Thanks...

Contact the store you bought from and/or customer service. Personally, I know that anything could have happened between the time the guitar left the factory and the time a store shipped it to me. But this is part of the reason there are warranties. If you are not happy, get it fixed.

And welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the quick reply and for the greeting. :)

I didn't order it online - I ordered it from EBMM distributor in Israel and picked it up the day it arrived at the store. The whole process lasted 5 months, and have cost me over 2200$.
Of course, I'm not happy. However, considering the fact that getting it fixed under warranty will probably require sending the guitar back to the states - I would first like to know the severity of the problem. If it is merely cosmetic, maybe a different kind of compensation would be appropriate.

I contacted both Music Man and the store, and waiting for their reply.

If you bought it from a official EBMM distributor, the store should take care of the problem for you.
