I finally got me an AL this summer after about 2 years of lusting for one. I couldn't be happier with a guitar. The nicest guitar I've owned in 23 years of playing. If folks pass on it because it's different looking, then they're truly missing out. I like odd things, so it's perfect for me. ;)

I was at another forum where they were posting pics of weird looking guitars. Well someone posted an Al. I jumped right on it. It's not that weird looking. I posted that if it's so weird, then where's the pics of the flying Vs and Gibson explorers???? I love the way it looks and I want one! :)

I can understand if people don't buy because they don't like the shape.

Now that would be a big shock - Foggy buying an Albert, as his first EBMM guitar?
Hey, go and do it!!

I tried an AL recently in a local GC and I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed it. Very sweet sounding!

I just love the way it looks too. Most people look at it and make weird faces but I love that funky shape!

Which GC?

El Toro? I hate all the construction they're doing around there. Takes forever to get anywhere on that street

But I'd go there to play an AL (even though I got one). I always combine a GC trip with a stop at that Tower records. Might have to stop in that mall this time of year too.

It was at the fountain valley store but i was there yesterday and its not there anymore.

Yeah i the contruction's been going on for at least a year there. It's quite maddening. I usually park in the Arby's parking lot near the Chevron station and walk the 1/4 mile... much less stressful plus people do some STUPID crap in that parking lot.

Nah man it's what a Strat hopes to be someday!!! "Quote from Jon"

The AL isn't really weird man. Think of it as I do, it's like a guitar you would see on the Jetsons.

As BP has said in the past, it is the most balanced guitar you will ever pick up and hold. Hat's off the Dudley, it is truly a great guitar.

You may think of the AL that way, but it's what the Strat could have been, but it's still stuck in the 60's. The AL has the Silent Circuit or as I prefer the MM90's and the sweet MM bridge, ah man I think I gotta dig mine out tonight.

Albert Lee, cherry burst, non matching headstock with shell pickguard SSS. That is my favorite Albert Lee and one that ordered quite infrequently.

GWDavis hit it on the head....nothing weird about the AL. It is certainly not a weird strat, but what a strat wished it could be. That is a fact. I have a certain spot in me old heart for the AL.....but for different reasons.
