Is the Y2D permanent?

The neck profile on Steve's #1 has changed over the years due to wear & re-frets, so the new profile was used on the Y2D. As I understand it, this new profile is on the newer Morses as well

I own both an original and a Y2D Morse and both are easily interchangeable. But at first you will notice the difference.
