Yes there are two versions
The Classic has the standard satin oiled and waxed neck

The Classic Deluxe has a glossy clearcoated and highly figured neck

Hi

So if I order a new one in the UK...it will be the neck as per the website pictures (gloss, awesome maple) ?

Hi Rod I owned one of the classics with the standard neck. But I returned it when I had the chance to get one with the finished fiquired necks. The standard necks have a nice satin finish on them and are very smooth to play. But I preferred the finished necks more
because IMO the lacquer neck gives the bass a little more twang. Plus they look much nicer with the fiquired maple. Hope this helps.

If I understand correctly, the regular classic vs deluxe classic is for Guitar Center stores only.

In any other store or country, the deluxe is just refered as the Classic (which automatically includes figured and laquered neck).
