So,

I've been a long time lurker here, having been a previous Stingray owner. I STUPIDLY got rid of my old 2006 LE SR5HH last year (I know, it was a stupid decision, and I've regretted it ever since). Anyways, I thankfully purchased a new SR5HH and I'm sooooooo happy now! practicing with it and recording with it, just holding it . I have a 2005 LE SR5HH on the way also ...........

My question is this...... I have this uncontrollable want/need to have more MusicMan basses and it seems to be taking over...In the past I had just the one Stingray and I thought it was enough (maybe I was afraid and that's why I sold it..), now that I have another on the way, I keep seeing more that I want.....Just seeing the EBMM headstock makes me happy/fuzzy inside... Is there a cure? I need help !

so, I've got my third one on the way, don't know how the heck I found it, but I did........selling all my other non EBMM basses..don't really want anything except my Balls !!!!!

I feel ya. I just bought my first Stingray a few weeks ago and I'm already looking to sell other instruments to buy me a fretless. Then I'll need a 5 string, then a 5-string fretless, then back to a 6-string but it'll probably be a Bongo...it's an epidemic!!!

Yep, there addicting! I am an addict as well. I have 1 Sterling 4H with a Stingray Classic on the way but I really want to add a lot more including some Big Al's and Bongo's to my collection.

Gets worse right around bonus season, tax (refund) season, holiday season...

Everyone here is right in telling you that there is no cure, no there isn't however, take my following recommendation in the most sincere and friendly way as possible, what I am going to tell you is what I would tell my brothers, my sons and my daughters:

I am always happy for other forum members to find their happiness buying more and more of these exclusively fantastic EBMM instruments.

Unfortunately sometimes it breaks my heart when I read that some of the most popular members in this forum who have bought, 1, 2, 3, or more EBMM basses are already selling them within a month from purchase in the "FOR SALE" section because they've overstretched their financial boundaries, or some unexpected compelling circumstance has come up, and so to avoid going bankrupt they are forced to sell ALL their basses at a loss. Now that is not good! People shouldn't just buy stuff so that they can start a new NBD thread and to keep up with the Jones, oh no! I would strongly advice anyone to only buy what you can afford to keep or sell when you want something better or newer, but to see people in this forum who I really like going under because they've been careless and just wanting to be popular for the other to cheer, upsets me, so my advice to you all is BE WISE, family, health and food come first. If you are well off enough to be able to afford and keep them than I am ever so happy to see that such wonderful basses have all gone to good homes.

If you shop the used market well and select popular models, you can get in and out of nice MM basses with minimal loss. That way you can feed the need to try new things, at "regular hobby" cash flow out...

I've had a few go in and out -- and finally learned, after trying many basses, that the 30th Stingray I bought and sold was really special. So, I managed to find an even better one at an even better price. The shopping is half the fun for me.

For example, I'd love to get back into a 25th -- but I'm assuming once the reflex comes out that the resale on the 25ths will drop -- and then I'll buy.

I just moved a nice German bass in at Christmas, enjoyed it quite a bit for several months, then re-sold to finance the 30th Stingray. Round trip on the German model cost me $100. Reasonable hobby expense for the fun I had with it.

I'm pure EBMM at the moment. Love my collection. I have a total investment in my three basses that some have on just one EBMM.

Shop wisely!

Oh -- and be willing to ship to our European forumites. They have good appetities for limited edition models with good prices and shipping really is not a big deal once you get the hang of it. I sent my basses to Switzerland and France to very happy buyers. My wife says -- where is that bass going -- I say France. She just looks at me. ;-)

Shop wisely part 2 -- I got GAS for a Genz Benz shuttle amp to try out. Found a mint one with carry case for $500 used. I managed to go through the garage and find enough surplus gear, sold on craigslist, to pay for the amp. This morning, I was literally settling a local deal for $550 worth of "stuff" with my buyer - when the amp showed up from the post office. The wife got to observe the gear rotation happen in real time!! Look hon, new bass amp, and none of our cash involved!! I scurried off with the bass amp....

Clean out those closets and garages -- there is EBMM Bass cash stored up in all that stuff!!
