With the other thread highlighting Mick mars at the Staples center sporting a cutlass outfitted with a floyd rose. I have to ask this question. Will there be a Mick Mars cutlass Sig guitar?

The specs on the guitar Mick is playing are almost perfect for me, (a recessed floyd would be perfect).

Correct me if I am wrong but by the description of the neck it sounds like the neck is somewhere in between an axis/silo/luke, all of which are great playing necks for my purposes. With the Alder body and floyd rose and HSS passive pickup config this sounds like a complete winner to me. A Super-strat with all the right specs in other words.

Cheers

Even if it doesn't have Mick's name on it.... will the Floyd be an option is the better question.

speculation-

i kind of see the cutlass being the platform for multiple variations - hardtail, super smooth trem, floyd it just fits everything so well. HH, SSS, HSH Models... especially with the new silent circuit on everything now should be a great platform for one offs or sig models...

Totally agree with all of your thoughts guys.

The Cutlass could be THE Musicman platform guitar. Musicman's Super-Strat guitar.

As much as a Mick Mars Siggy would be cool as he//. I would be just as happy to have a HSS Floyd equipped Alder strat styled guitar, sporting an incredible EBMM neck, with all of the quality that Music Man has, ie: the Cutlass. This would be fantastic.

I honestly feel this guitar would cater to a lot of folks if it was offered with bridge and pick up configuration options.

As much as I love my other musicmans, I have always wanted an alder bodied HSS passive equipped Musicman with a floyd in a strat styled body with a nice C/V neck. I've seriously looked into other big name manufacturers, that offer these options, but I have never pulled the trigger. If Musicman throws a Floyd on the Cutlass. I am sure I would be pulling the trigger.

Cheers

I'm in
I want a floyded strat but the other brand doesn't offer a US made standard one.
Would love it too be a Mick Mars signature too or a floyd/humb option.

it's an exciting year for sure...

if you look at what we do know...

Mick Mars has a variant, Hunter Hayes Has a variant all of the Cutlass... so it's already on it's way to being used for other versions. BP knows what he's doing so i'm sure we'll see some really great stuff based on the Cutlass... it's really smart...

a single body that can be tweaked in a ton of ways to make it work
