I saw that auction too....

What it looked like to me was, someone bought the LE and swapped the neck with another bass, probably for the matching headstock...and that's why it's posted up cheaper than you normally see them.

Are you happy? if so then you are great. These arent rare dusenbergs where that numbers have to match. They are basses!

thaox- of the millions of basses on the open market, and of all the MM's available all over the world, you were drawn to this one for a reason. You didn't even know about the non-matching headstock until now. So what? If it plays and you like it, no problem.

I submit that the owner of a rare duesenberg with a non-matching battery box who is happy is also great! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

thanks

Well said, I have bought a few EB's that didn't match, as long as all the parts are there and they play fine, it's another great tool.

If Duesenberg only made long scale basses... oh, wrong forum... ;)

They are afaik. But their stuff looks funny (D bass)

I know you guys are loyal foreigners, I mean followers of BP and EBMM, but ya'll need to get out of guitar mode sometimes. BP was referring to the esteemed, yet defunct, American auto manufacturer of the early 20th century.
