All...Many...Either way, it's leading toward a false conclusion.

The first post said that all EBMMs were perfectly balanced- why aren't you taking up against that post? ;) :D

I just think people may be overreacting to someone's opinion.

I have to agree that there is a fair amount of overreaction here.

I think what we know for sure is this, and I will be open to correction:

1. Music Man considers balance when designing instruments. They're not likely to give us the next long-scale EB0.

2. Most people consider the Stingray/Bongo to be well-balanced instruments.

3. There are a lot of opinions on the internet. Some of them are often disguised as 'facts' or 'common knowledge' when they are neither.

4. A forum full of Music Man fanatics is likely to be defensive of the instruments that brought them together - and their opinions might be better-informed than someone who "heard" something on the internet.

Disagree?

Agreed with all the above.

I read that Jack had been trying out Stingrays so I know his opinion wasn't based on something he heard online- he is a serious player- since he hasn't posted back yet I just wanted to make sure people didn't think he was just a trolling looney.

I wasn't trying to be "demeaning". I'm not a "pro", but I do play a lot and sometimes for long periods of time. I've played a lot of basses and I know that there are some out there that can be truly uncomfortable. My first two basses were a Gibson Grabber and a G-3 Grabber. I know about discomfort, but to say that "many" EBMMs are in that catagory makes me question the perspective of the person saying it. It sounds extremely over-opinionated. It leaves the impression that the persons saying it would rather have a contrary opinion than a great-sounding bass.

I know who he is (now) and think it's great that he's trying out Stingrays.

One of the tough things about the internet is making sure to express yourself without sounding like you're making a blanket statement. Little things like adding "for me" or "IME" or "IMO" go a long way.

The term "lynch mob" was bandied about.....you can't torture me, though, Pete.

I'm too patient.

It is teal, though, isn't it?

I'd say enough.

I hope you guys understand that I let this go in order to answer a simple question.

IMHO, that question has been answered, and I sincerely hope that everyone else feels the same - and that it wasn't a gang tackle, that it was an attempt to let everyone have a say.

If you feel this has been unfair in any way, I encourage you to PM me.

Thanks for your participation - to everyone.
