I have had back problems for years, ever since high school. It keeps going out and I get it fixed and so on. About 3 weeks ago I almost caught pneumonia, with coughing so much it aggravated my back to the point that on Friday the 2 of March I started having severe back spams. So severe that we had to call the ambulance to come to my house and get me. They had to shoot me up with 10somethings of morphine just to get me out of bed and into the stretcher. I was in the hospital for 4 days.
That is the worst I have felt in my life. Every time I coughed I felt like my back muscles were tearing apart, but unfortunately I had to cough because my chest was so congested that if I did not cough that crud out I was going to get pneumonia and then it would have been worse. On top of that I could not do anything but stare at my guitars for about 3 weeks without being able to play them.
It really puts life into perspective laying there not being able to move seeng the look on your 2year old little boy wondering why can't daddy play with him.
Now I am getting better but am bummed because I have no insurance and will probably have to pay the hospital bill out of my own pocket. That leaves me without any extra funds for my Balls.
Any way I don't mean to take this forum's space with my personal problems, and I know that compared to some other people's health problems mine is small but it still hurts. I just needed to vent a little to my fellow knuckle heads who I knew could understand my pain.
Thank you for reading.

Man, that just sucks. Sorry to hear about your back and other ailments. I know (believe me, I really know) about being in the hospital. My stays were quite long and I know how you are feeling.

So what if you can't buy a guitar or bass this year. You need to get better. Life is more important and so is your health.

Get better so you can play the guitar/bass you have. I know it is frustrating just looking at them, but keep in mind, they are in your house for you to use when you are ready to pick them up and play. They will understand my friend.

Get well soon.....my prayers are with you.

Thank you guys so much for your kind words. You have no Idea how much I appreciate them.

I do go to the the Chiropractor at least once a month but this time even that did not help. I am currently going to physical therapy to hopefully get to the bottom of this in hopes that it never gets this bad again.

Definitely trying to stay in a positive mind set. At least now I can play the ones I have.
Thank you guys once again.

Sorry to hear of your back problems. I can certainly sympathsize, as I pinched a nerve last July doing concrete work around my former house (hauling, mixing and pouring 41 80-pound bags of concrete by myself). My back was excruciating for a while, but that healed.. what hasn't improved is the numbness of my left thigh from my hip to my knee. Fortunately, I have medical insurance so I was able to get some PT, but the numbness persists. It's probably my fault because at the time of the PT I was remodeling a house prior to moving in, so I spent every night of the week for over a month doing things I wasn't supposed to do (working overhead etc.).

I sure hope you find some relief, and don't worry about the guitars.. Big Poppa will keep making them.

Sorry to hear that bro.........keep a positive outlook and you'll get through it. Don't sweat the hospital bill, that's negotiable. Do a search on the internet. I've seen articles about it. Sending some positive mojo your way...........

Man I hope for you to have a speedy and thorough recovery. Do your best to not let all of the stress get to you, because in the grand scheme of things, that just isn't worth it. Get better man, we are all here for you

I hope your back heals soon, not so much for playing your guitars but for the fun you can have playing with your 2 yr old son. He, as is your family, are the most important reasons for you to get better. I know my son gets upset when my arm is acting up and I can't pick him up and throw him around.

As soon as your back and cough are better , sit down that little boy and let him strum away on your EBMM's :D

Acupuncture has always worked without fail on my back problems. Yours seem very serious, but a few little needles can't hurt. After all, it HAS been around for thousands of years...

I wish you a speedy recovery!!

Ditto to everything thats already been said. It's not important to get a EB right now, just ensure your own health so this time next year you can worry about expanding your collection, and maybe start your son's :)

I have suffered with a back condition for the last 5 years or so, so I feel your pain - literally. When it went real bad I was in hospital too. I have done countless gigs seated and have to do exercises each day. I really hope you get better soon.
