Whoohoo.. it was sooooo worth it! :D :D :D :D :D

Todd's 30th Anniversary Stingray arrived first thing Wednesday morning in mint condition. Thanks mate! :)

It's now the wee hours of Friday morning. I've only had the chance to play it for an hour or two (new job, training course etc), but I am absolutely blown away.

This particular bass has magic.

I've often seen the phrase "plays like butter" used but have never fully understood it or experienced it until now. Wow - all basses should play like this. This is a keeper!

The neck is amazing (iit's faster and easier playing than my J bass) and has been set up to perfection. It is light (5kgs - my J is 6kg), is incredibbly growly, suoer punchy and has amazing sustain. It's voice is darker and punchier than other Stingrays I've tried (the Mahongany body) but it is soooooo incredibly articulate - notes bloom and blossom.

If you haven't had a chance to try a 30th, do so - you will not regret it.

Pics coming soon (although you all know what these babies look like)

Awesome, Andy, you're gonna really love the 30th.

I can't believe you've got a 13lb Jazz bass - that sounds obscene. I used to own a 14lb Les Paul bass, and I thought that was the world record, but first time I've heard of a J weighing so much. When are you selling it? :p

LOL trust me, every other bass I own feels as light as a feather in comparrison. MIJ 75 RI... a solid lump of ash.

The 30th is just amazing. I can't put it down. All I need now is the fretless version and my world would be complete! :D

Congratulations! I've gigged with my 30th about six times so far and have been doing some recordings as well. Awesome bass...
