I stopped hanging here so much when I sold my HH Bongo fiver several months back, although I'vee been lurking on and off since then.

Given the events of late, though, I figured I'd stop by and say hi. A couple months ago, I ordered a HH Bongo 4 from VBTC (I might have been able to fend it off if I hadn't seen the pictures of that mahogany bodied Bongo from the open house). Then, a few weeks back, I picked up a great SR4 from 1after909, which is now my #1 bass and wearing a fresh set of Chromes.

Last night was the capper, though. Jack posted with the two remaining Buttercreme E's available. I had been looking for a SR5 for a few days, and thinking how cool and smooth the H-S PU configuration would be. What is one of the available LE's but a SR5 with the H-S configuration. Jack made me an offer I couldn't refuse and the bridge of death was crossed! I'd like to mention how awesome Steve and Jack have both been throughout the order process. Gold stars all around!

I've never had 2 new basses on order at the same time, but the waiting has been the most excellent and excruciating form of torture I've experienced. Luckily I have my 'Ray to keep me company in the meantime. She's a sweetie!

Anyway's, this all means you'll probably be seeing more of me around here. It's good to be back!

Welcome back Tom. We should start a pool on who gets their BC bass first, huh? I can't wait to try out my HH Sterling!

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

You're on Brad! One of the few contests where there is no real winner (as long as they both show up! :) )

Don't you mean 'loser'? :D

Either that or I meant to say "everybody wins"...Doh!

There is no loser when you're talking about getting new toys, especially when they're EBMM toys!

Tom was the prior owner of this rather fabulous Stingray, for those of you who are keeping score at home.
Ah, so this is Tom...nice to put a face to a Forum member!

Actually, that's Ray Duke...

This picture is a few years old, and I don't have the beard anymore, but you get the idea...

Incidentally, I miss the heck out of that 'Ray. What was I thinking?!

BTW, no cars were harmed during the taking of that picture. My drummer and I parked next to that car at the mall, and I happened to have my old MIM Jazz in the trunk. It took a couple shots to get it right, but it looks pretty convincing, right?

Ah dammit! I'm not even drinking, and I'm getting thrown...

...okay, I'm good now! Thanks!

BTW, that pic would be believable...if it weren't for the still-intact antenna. :D

I don't know. But the new owner, who is young and can deal with relatively heavy basses, is very seriously happy with that bass - as he should be.

No dead spots, no "weak G", no nothing to complain about, except it was a little bit heavy........
