... and now she's here!

Without further ado....

EDIT: ImageShack got hacked, and I don't really feel like advertising for the group who did it.... so I have removed the effected images until I can get them re-uploaded. Thanks :/EDIT.

I have only had a few minutes with her so far... but oh man, BP, you guys did it right! Amazing. Flawless. Perfect. Those are the only words I can use to describe this instrument.

It was PERFECTLY in tune out of the box. No detail was forgotten, however seemingly small. Sounds AMAZING. The clarity and depth are really hard to describe.

More to come soon. But I couldn't wait to get her, and couldn't wait to share with you all.

Oh, and my daughter was excited too... she brought me inside when I got home, and asked me to "open the guitar".... and said "oooooh, new guitar" when she saw it. I think she actually played it before I did. :) It was really cute and very fitting to my mood.

Thank you Sir, that means a lot to a proud poppa. She means the world to me, and the fact that she loves music even now makes me so excited for her future.

The bass is really amazing too.

The Slinky's lasted about an hour on there before I swapped them out for a set of flats, and Yeah Buddy! I highly recommend this course of action.... go find the nearest 25th, put flats on it.... now, go, I'll wait here. Seriously though... I was digging the zing a bit on this beauty, and it definately highlights its clarity, ring, and response; but at the end of the day, I'm a flats man, and it performs marvelously under them. It is no doubt a gorgeous bass, but I think its looks almost distract from its amazing playability and sound... which at the end of the day makes the buddah... it doesn't suck to look at either though, especially when the light catches the top. :)

I sincerely hope everyone on the boards gets an opportunity to play one that wants to. My door is always open to those passing through Nowheresville, TN. :)

Matt -I know you've been waiting for a while and it looks totally worth the wait. Congratulations. I had a chance to play a 25th at a local GC this weekend and loved it. I really am happy for you.

Wow, beautiful beautiful instrument!!!!!! And congrats on a beautiful daughter too!!! And a music lover :D Do I sense a future MM addict ;)

Congrats again!! I am curious to the tones you are getting once you threw flats on... I am a slinker, but I bet it sounds perfect.

Yeah, real nice, your instrument - I like the finish!

But what I don't like about all that new stuff (e.g. BigAl) is that those basses are no longer as simple as they used to be. Know what I mean? Takes too long to set 'em up for a nice sound. To mind, all you should need to do is to just plug your bass to a nice amp and go for it. But that's no longer possible with all that buttons and stuff.... That's why I'll stay with my StingRays (maybe a Sterling one day). Just my 0,02 EUR :p

less is not always easier.. i tell ya the 2band eq on my old ray takes a steady hand to get the sound i want from it... :)

give it a try, forget about the technology behind and just listen to what happens when you fiddle with the knobs. you will find your favorite and then all you have to remember is how its set at that setting. you dont need to know if it the passive switch or if all three pickups are on at the same time.. you just need to remember your fav setting. with centre detent on all tone knobs its a piece of cake. and in addition they have mounted the setscrew in the knob itself so it points upwards when they are centre. if you like you can make your own setting and then move the knobs so the screws point upwards at that exact point :)

Matt... awesome looking bass! If it sounds as good as it looks you really have something there. Interested to here your impressions as soon as you get some play time on it. Thinking i may have to order another bass this year. JOSH
