Although over the last few months it's been pretty obvious, it's finally happening.

http://www.van-halen.com/newsite/news.html

I'm about as giddy as I could ever be at this point...it is SO on at this point.

Going to the Phx show on Aug 5, and really really thinking about hitting the Vegas show 2 days later. Maybe those that'll be going, we can meet up there?

THE MIGHTY VH RETURNS! :)

Sounds good...we'll sort things out as time progresses, and things get closer.

pack:
don't think they've ruled out Seattle...keep in mind that a week ago, Phoenix (and half the other locations) were not listed. Seattle's a big market, and will get added (Hey, I have a friend that lives in SEA....hmmmm. ;) ). Same here, which is why I wasn't concerned when I didn't see Phx at first. I know they've sold the joint out here in under an hour. :)

Same for MSG, Purple...they're not ruling out the Big Apple, I'm sure. All in due time, brotha. :)

Tim:
Two words...I agree :)

I am SERIOUSLY planning a visit to the USA to see Van Halen. The Sammy years are my favourite anyhow, so the prospect of seeing them in their 'zenith' line up is something I would not like to miss in a hurry!

Yeah, used that...and *ick* had to install AOHell on my machine in order to get it when first posted. However, this happy guy got a couple of duckets for the Vegas show. The bottom bowl is GONE at the Mandalay Bay Events Center...but I have 2 seats in it though! H*ll yeah! :)

Now, I just hope that the Phoenix tickets don't go on sale until June-ish; my girl's going in for surgery on the 16th of the month, will be about 2 months before she gets $$ flowing again! As long as they don't go on sale until/after Jun 21st, things will be good.

Otherwise, there's a 7-11 down the road that looks real good at about 2 AM. :p

Darrell,

How I'm no EVH (But then again EVH is no Norm (or is he? Hmmmmmm)) but I will be playing at the GC in Phoenix this Tuesday. This is for the store finals of their Shredfest. Admission is free and I think you can get better seats then at the arena. Hopefully that will hold you till August. Come on down. Last I checked this forum does not allow members to email you. That's your decision and that's cool.

kbaim, I hate you. :p

I just saw that show added, and I SO want to go to that one too, but unless I sell a lot of plasma or 90-day pawn one of the EVH's (riiiiight), ain't happening.

I'm going to the 8/7 show, and planning to get tix to Phoenix on 8/5. I figured that I'd get to Vegas on Fri night, and have a night off in between. Don't know how well I'll sit knowing the boys are playing thisclose to me, and I'm not there. :(

Norm, when does all of this go down on Tuesday? I'll add the email link to my profile; drop me a line and let me know so I can plan accordingly with the wonderful Phoenix freeway system.

Man, no kidding. I haven't gone to a major show in a while, but ticket prices on this are INSANE ($90 for a nosebleed in NJ? That ain't right! I just paid nearly as much for much better regular admission seats to see Prince at Madison Square Garden, and at least they throw in a copy of his new CD with that).

The presale tix thru the VH site were also really nuts - like $200 a seat in their "4 star" package, which got you into the first 20 rows. Even worse was their "5 star" package, which got you seats in the first 10 rows and a backstage tour but NOT a guaranteed meeting with the band at nearly $400. I went backstage on the last tour and did meet them, and I'd still be mighty irked if I'd have paid that much for the cattle call that those things are...

And don't even get me started on Ticketmaster's so-called "service fees" and ticket handling charges... <grrrr>....utter highway robbery for the 21st century.

BTW,

I saw Steely Dan at Madalay Bay events center last summer and the sound was unbelievable. A bit loud, but crystal clear mix.

And I was sitting center court, upper section. A ton of house speakers directed right at me above the stage.

The place was less than 1/2 full. Damn good show even with one helluva toothache I had. That, by the way, ended up costing me like 2 ernie ball guitars to get fixed.

Hey, anyone know if eddie is fully recovered from hip replacement surgery and able to move?

Ticketmaster, oh no, no. Around here I like to refer to them as TicketBastard!!

$11.30 per ticket!!! What the hell for, I did all of the work!!! Man I know that I am dating myself, but I can remember when tickets were like $20.00 and you could still get a tee-shirt. Those things are like $100,000.00 now aren't they?? I don't even bother looking any more.

I got 6 tickets for the show in Worcester.

First, I got 3 tickets in section 206, row B. Not bad, but I had been looking at worse.

Then I got lucky and got 3 on the floor, section 1, row Q. I'm pumped since I've never seen them live and never thought that I would.

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just as phyched fella's! I scored early tickets for Detroit at the Palace off of the AOL crap and wound up in the lower bowl,

Then, on Friday, I went through the local Radio Station who is sponsoring the show and got 2 tickets for the first Detroit show at Joe Louis Arean on the main floor in section F.

I've been playing the hell outta my purple AXIS trying to copy Eddie's solo I found on Kazza when he does "ERUPTION" on his purple EBMM EVH.

I also just scored a 1982 "NO BOZO's" concert shirt off Ebay. Some printing company in Canada makes those and the "NUFF SAID..." shirts and even some of the old style concert Jerseys with the 3/4 length sleeves.

I think I have my concert kit together!
