I owe you all a follow-up on my post from a few weeks ago (http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13369) so here it is.

After writing that post I went out of town for the weekend. During my layover in Detroit on my way home, we gave GC a call and it had finally arrived on Friday! Fortunately for me, the flight home was only an hour and I was in the middle of a good book. On the way home, we swung by GC and picked it up.

The way life would have it, the last 2 weeks have been more than a little busy (I'm running sound for a musical that goes up tomorrow night so rehearsals have been running till after 10 and when one gets up at 6 for work, there's not much time left for anything else) and included another weekend away from home so I haven't been able to really play, but next week I hope to be spending some serious quality time getting to know all the ins and outs. In the mean time, I get to show it off and make it real!

No wonder you're so angry.

That is a good looking bass. You are going to be madly in love with that SR5. Enjoy it.

Thanks for all the great comments guys. I too fell in love with the color combination when I saw it and I'm very pleased with how it looks in real life. In the limited time I have been able to spend with it I can say that it hasn't disappointed in any way. I'm sure more time will only bring more happiness.

Hey! It's purdy. It's good to confirm that I did not make a mistake when I picked this exact same color/combo for my SR5 (ETA April 06. Can you hear me SLO?)

Ironically enough, the matching headstock was the one thing I was most worried about. I forgot that there were Black Cherry Burst and (non-black) Cherry Burst finishes when I ordered and accidentally ordered Cherry Burst initially. When I got home and realized my mistake, I called and had it changed and when my sales guy made the change he just added the matching headstock (no charge). Anyway, I didn't exactly ask for the matching headstock and I was worried that it might not work very well, but as it turns I'm glad I've got it because it definately adds to the overall look of my bass.
