i am going to sell my Fender p bass,i have really bad gas for a fretless bass and i just dont have the cash to buy one right now.

i looked at it last night, its been months since i played it and since i got my Bongo i have stopped taking it to gigs.I will still have a 1986 jazz that has been with me nearly 20 years, mind you i cant remember the last time i played it either.

BTW i am not trying to sell it here !! its just that i really do love the bass, great neck, great colout (trans orange) sounds just like a fender should. Its a big thing for me to get rid of it but i really want a fretless..

so i need a bit of help on picking one

a sterling, ray or Bongo i dont know which one,i am thinking a HS sterling but i love the Bongo HH to bits and thing a fretless would be even better.

But then i love the look of the stingray to me its the classic bass, when i was growing up everybody had one or wanted one and when i think of the origonal bass guitar i dont think of a fender i think of a ray

One word:

Piezo.

This right here just might be the ultimate fretless. At least it is for me. Bongo 5 Hp fretless.

Big +1 on the piezo.

It has become a must-have for me and it is especially nice on the fretless.

I have never tried a Bongo fretless but something tells that the electonics would just kill in a fretless...

Nice bass..

It's been said that the Bongo HSp is "the best EBMM fretless"...

Really... It's been said... :D

Nice to see people moving to/experimenting with fretless. My first bass was fretless and I believe it helped me a lot when it comes to playing a fretted.

And sorry everyone but I think a P bass is...I was going to say my favorite bass but then I remembered my stingray.

Stingray is where its at.

agreed all around

Big +1 on the piezo.

It has become a must-have for me and it is especially nice on the fretless.

Of course I'm a Piezo pusher, but as to which model, I'm in love with my SR5fretless,H/P but, depending on what *you* prefer, If I was in the market for a 4 string, I'd probably lean the way I feel Big Poppa pushing and that would be an SR4 H/Por BONGO4 H/P or a Sterling HS/P ... but I'm a 5string guy so I'd be looking for maybe a Sterling5 H/P or SR5 H/p or Bongo HS/P and, as far as clr, I'd be leaning toward an '08 LE:cool::)and just waiting for a stiff EBMMForum breeze to push me over;):)

make your pick and bring us some pics to goo gaa over and play it in good health:)

Best fretless I've ever played was SmallEQ's medallion gold (signature model) Bongo 4 Hp. Never have I ever touched a better fretless. (And that includes some high-dollar boutique stuff.)

If I had ANY talent for fretless, that would still be mine.

So, needless to say....you kinow where I stand on this issue.

i hadn't put much taught into a piezo, i will now !!!

i thinks because its so hard to get them over here i am going to go with whatever model i can find.

i was planning a trip state side last year but i had to delay it,i am hoping to get there this year and i plan on spending my dollars on a brand new stingray....prob honey burst with a mapel neck single H and a 2 band eq if i can find one.... but for now its sell the fender and get a fretless what ever comes by i will be posting photos and looking for advice on them.

ps ...i played a gig last night and you know what ....my Bongo kills me it just the best bass i have ever played, its a stunner

thanks again

I don't think that one has been fretless all of its life... it looks converted... and AFAIK, rosewood will not withstand roundwounds as well as ebony or peau ferro.
