I found a new favorite setting for the Big Al in the Rock 3-piece-band yesterday.
Middle Pickup,
active,
highs flat,
bass boosted a little,
both mids boosted about 20%.

Cuts very well when played with a pick and sits nicely in the mix.

Hi if anyone is interested I got a shiny new 3 layer black pickguard for my BA.
