and i can honestly notice a significant improvement in my playing. I had about 6 guitars of different brands and I've sold them all in favor of my Axis SS and Silo Special about two months ago. I don't know if it is that I don't have to make adjustments in technique or that I've just been playing more but I recorded the last two nights and it's just been easier...anyone ever notice anything like this? hope I don't sound like a total fanboy...

The same thing happened to me.... All my other Big Name guitars are gone.

As you can see from my Signature, I am a HUGE FAN of the Axis (+ EVH) models. Once I found my niche, I focused on that and sold the others.

Granted, I still like the looks of nice LP, but then I remember the things I did not like which brought me to MusicMan. I still have to try an Albert Lee and Reflex model, so you never know. They may be on my future list to purchase! :D

Not at all. They are just so easy to play and once you bond with them its pointless to play anything else haha. They are just so comfortable and you focus more on playing than struggling with the instrument. Once I pick mine up its really hard to let go...just wish I had more time to play.

They just feel right and from there the music falls in place. Once you find a home you don't want to let it go. Totally understood here.

Once I found EBMM in December of 2006 never looked back, think it was early 2008 when I sold my last none EBMM and kept that only because it was the first decent guitar I owned and was a present from the wife:)

My Silo Spec came with non-original pickups when I picked it up off of the 'bay. I've put a Tone Zone, an Area 58 and Area 61 in it. It sounds incredible and covers so much ground. Along with my Axis SS, I don't really need anything else. Except maybe a JP6???

And they are so comfortable that there isn't much thinking about the guitar, I just pick it up and go. I don't worry about the limitations of my guitar. The struggle is just in me and my playing, not with the guitar. I really do find myself doing fewer takes and more difficult things are more easily within reach. After owning AT LEAST 100 over 20+ years of playing; I just love that I have found MY guitars. I can't ever see getting rid of these.

They are very smooth and comfortable to play. I played Fenders for ages and as famous and great as they are you always have to fight the guitar. When I used to borrow a Les Paul they were so much more player friendly, and the day I went to buy one I ended up with a Ball which is practically on auto pilot. So my stable is just Fenders and Balls, with the last 8 guitars I have bought being Balls, besides them being the only new guitars of interest I checkout.

With my Y2D there are no excuses, if it sounds bad it means that I need improvement, not the instrument.

QFT! LOL!

I remember my first guitar teacher was all like, "careful steve, don't start saving up too fast for a new axe. Nice body, beautiful resonance, awesome feedback and response. Makes your good playing beautiful and your bad playing terrible." haha.

I don't know... I think you might learn ''more'' and ''faster'' with a music man. But if you go back to basics... Jimi learned himself on a beat up acoustic at first... It all has to do with practise and I learned my first tunes on a beat up guitar, but I practised alot so I grew in playing really fast. And that was on an 8 year old Ibanez started I bought from a friend.

Yup - definitely. I think it (my improvement in technique) is prolly due to MM necks which I love I play better on my MM than I do on my beat up ol' 73 Les Paul that is consigned to it's case. (Won't get rid of it though cos I 've had it from new.) Will never get rid of my BCB AL either!!

Have to agree on that one... The MM necks are indeed the best out there..

I'm in the same position - my other guitars just don't feel as good under my hands anymore. These two guitars (and my acoustic) get well over 95 percent of my playing time.

I'm in the same boat and no longer own any of my guitars that were non EB. After playing the JPs I'd pick up my other guitars and just not even be interested in playing them! Haha! So, they've been sold!

Yeah, even the bass that I use for recording is an EBMM SUB. I think once you get used to these necks, there is no going back. The only non-ebmm I have is my acoustic. Acoustic EBMM's anyone?
