I've got fret buzz now that I've changed to 8s?

I had Elixir 9s on my electric guitar (Sx strat copy). I replaced those strings with Ernie Ball 8s and now I've got fret buzz when I press down on the A and D strings at the 2nd fret. I was wondering was it the change of brands that are causing the fret buzz?

And would switching back to 9s or even 10s solve this buzzing problem?

it doesn't matter what strings you have if you change brand and especially gauge you need to adjust your guitar. This could be as easy as a truss rod adjustment or a little more...
