Does any one here actually play there music man guitars or are they ornaments on your mantel piece ????

I can understand why you would ask the question since there is more talk of quilt tops, sunburst finishes and special editions on here than there ever seems to be about the sounds of the guitars. Also lots of posters on here seem to be more interested in talking about the number of guitars they own rather than what they do with them.

I think this is probably the nature of the forum and the people who post on it, also it is easier to share photos and talk about appearance than it is to talk about sound.

In the end people can buy guitars for whatever reason they like, to make music with or to look at and drool over. Personally I buy them for the sound as I have never really seen much beauty in any piece of wood. I used to be a professional musician, these days my guitars are used at home.

I would suggest that if you find these discussions offensive ( and it appears you do judging by the snide nature of many of your posts) you devote more time to playing your guitar and less to following these threads.

Hey

Listen it really shouldnt be a surprise when you come on to a concentrated forum of fans and listen to them go on about thier stuff or wanting more. I also am from the school that guitars are art. I have been surrounded by guitars my entire life. I have been involved in design for over twenty years. Give me a choice between a trendy painting or a guitar and you know what I would choose. Oh yeah and I cant play a gig with the painting.

Back on topic...I didn't buy any guitars in '06, so when they announced and showed the bfr's, I ordered 2.

Then Pete said he had this LE Blue Dawn Luke Piezo coming in, would I be...

Asshat!

And Jon's making 2 of my Lukes like new. So it feels like 5 new guitars are coming my way in the next couple months.
That should do it for a couple years at least.
