Yesterday I had a day off from work and really fancied a drive. On the S & T website, I'd seen a link to Knighton Guitars, a shop on the Welsh/English border - about 85 miles from Cardiff. The drive to Knighton was through some beautiful countryside and I saw some fantastic architecture - 18 century oak beamed houses, red brick barns etc.
Anyway 2 hours later I arrive outside the shop - now Knighton is a very small village but the guitar shop is one of the best shops I have seen in the UK. I always made a point of visiting guitar shops when I used to travel around the UK a lot for work, so I don't make this statement lightly!!

The shop is owned by knucklehead -Lord Knighton(Steve). He is passionate about MM guitars he also loves Gibsons so you get a pragmatic opinion from Steve. All the EB MM are front of house and he carries just about all MM models. He is helped by Andy and also a great character by the name of Den pops in and does some guitar repairs for them. We swapped many a yarn and shared some "top tips". I promised that next time I go I will take my EVH as he is really interested in that guitar - he owns an AXis

I spent a couple of hours there and counted over 30
EB guitars/basses in stock. I tried a lovely cream HH AL and loved the rosewood neck.

So UK'ers - check these guys out. I know Lukather101 bought his HH AL from them and reckoned he had a great deal with them.

I really do apologize for not having taken a camera with me and posting some photos - maybe next time.

The link to Knighton Guitars is here

Edit
Oh year I forgot - there was a lovely 25th Anniversary guitar in stock, and also he had the "display" model similar to this one

Man I'd love to gig that guitar !!!!

I have to admit that every day I visit the Knighton site ... (remember Spud, I contacted you about them ...).
It's really nice to see a shop where they really believe in the EBMM brand.
They have often new guitars and they post some wonderful pics !
Bravo !

Yes I do remember it - it was a nice 2 hour drive - and Travs all I had to eat was a giant bar of Cadburys Milk chocolate

It really is a fantastic shop - hats off to the proprietor and I hope he does well out of it.

Use it or lose it

Nice one! - Don't see much of DaveB around these parts??

Phrat - do it!!

My missus complained like hell - not because I went to a guitar shop but because she would have liked to look around Hereford - a really nice place for the other half to look around.

They are a great bunch of lads up there, plus Steve can play a bit as well.
I originally wanted a white AL but he couldn't get one so i asked to get the tobacco one delivered instead, glad I did because i wouldn't swap it for anything.
For anyone visiting knighton music try and check out the feeding of red kites in the same area, between 200-500 at a time AMAZING SIGHT

Amazing! I thought I knew where all of the major EBMM retailers in the UK were.

Is this shop fairly new or have they been around a while?

A shop full of EBMMs is an excellent idea.....for everyone except the shop owner.
Let's hope most of them will be leaving for new homes very soon
