Hey Jamie - any chance of seeing the mirrored guitar at the bash please?

Do you have an Albert Lee guitar in your "arsenal" of guitars? - I'm sure that I saw you playing an AL on one of the Lick Library dvd's?

I did use the mirrored Axis at the show one year....maybe Pete can use it on the stand somewhere as a diplay piece...I think the focus is goin to be me using the 25th Anniversary and also my BFR Double neck...althought I will feel naked without my beatup old Axis SS....Yeah i do have an Albert Lee...I love it....I used it on quite a few blues tracks on Guitar Techniques CD....plus on the SRV Vol 2 DVD...its a great sounding guitar...so comfortable to play....and the figuring on the neck on mine is something else!! Jamie:D

what about a roller nut or something? Someone must make nuts that take up the same amount of space to do away with it.

Yes I have thought about that more resently.....I didnt Like the Idea of the locking nut at all...but because to with the way the head stocks have that curve up to the fingerboard, (probablyu a techy name...but I just play the things!!)....it was had to make the mirror finish match up to a regular nut...like I said I dont even have the locking nuts on it...but yeah maybe a roller nut the same size as a floyd nut....any suggestions?...Jamie

Ye its the string gauge mainly, not beefy enough.
Although sound is more high gain but personally I don't really care. I wouldn't be buyin it for SRV licks really, just to steal some licks that can be used in general and moved around the neck.

Hey Jamie, that is a great tune! I will most definitely get your album. I am also loving the tone on Ceremony. The Blackstar sounds awesome, and I am very intrigued by this little thing. Just curious, what speakers or cab are you running the head through? And the Silo Special is awesome. Mine has a humbucker in the bridge...planning on getting an Air Zone in their for a nice fat sound. What pickup is that in the bridge of your SS?

Jamie it's your fault...based on the Ceremony clip I got GAS for a Blackstar HT-5 and have just placed an order...like I need a new amp, but at least they don't cost a fortune! What pickups are in that silo, you've changed the bridge for sure but are the other two stock?

See you at LIMS!

I know what you mean. I have been checking the HT-5 out on youtube and now I am looking pretty hard at getting one. Though I'm betting Jamie would make any amp sound good.

Hey up mate!

I have had the misfortune of having to play with Jamie a few times at different shows and even had to get up and jam with him at some of them as well.

He gets on my t**ts. It doesn't matter what he plays through or what MM guitar he uses, it always sounds great and he is a top player with tons of feel.
Also, he is a very nice man and helped me when I was new to the Ernie Ball team in the UK, putting me in touch with people and the like.

But enough of the kind words.

Jamie, have you been in touch with Trev Wilkinson, he does the roller nuts for Jeff Beck on his strats or did.

Looking forward to seeing you in London mate, I'll get you a pint in!

Hey chaps...sorry for late reply...been on a session last few days for Lick Library....someone mentioned about pickups on my Silo Special..To be honest I am not too sure...its was put together for me when I did my first Aussie Floyd tour...Steve Blutcher matched the pickups for me...with the type of sounds I was after...and they where fitted when MM built the guitar...I think the bridge hotrail is an FS1...and the middle and Neck are the area 50 and 60 something...sorry not much use...but the guitar was built a while ago...As for strings re SRV...I use 10-52 anyway and when I tune down to Eb I use 11-56...I think I just got the tone wrong..too rock...I have just been working on a new SRV DVD this week and used 2 different Silo Specials...the black one in standard tuning...and my old white one that has an old DiMarzio solo pro in the bridge and a pair of virtual vintage in mid and neck...the bridge is more authentic for SRV as its a straight singlecoil...I used that in Flat tuning with 11's...and the HT 5 head..and an HT valve overdrive pedal....I will look into the roller nut...too many kind words haha...but the beer will be good at london..Jamie
