These guitars are out of this world! I'm such a sucker for a nice blue quilt that I'm seriously considering one for myself. Here's #62/69, and the quilt is insane.

Absolutely amazing and I love everything about it...except for the white binding. That quilt is crazy good.

That's easily fixed ;)

Wire it up with a 5-way and go for a coil split and parallel wiring, or like an Axis Super Sport :)

Hi

My first post :), just received my new Morse BFR, what a fantastic great sounding and looking axe ! I am also considering expanding the tonal range of the instrument with a 5 way switch and probably a push pull, but noticed two things :

- the pots seem to be 250K not 500K as advertised by some dealers (regular Morse value)
- I am not sure the custom DiMarzios are 4 conductors buckers because I can only see the hot lead and the ground one (i.e red and green) in the current wiring but maybe the black and white lead were taped inside the cable and hidden.

I asked Ernie Ball about this but did not get any feedback yet. Any information on your side ?

For your info too, compared to the Y2D Darklord I own I find this model to be slightly brighter, so I believe 250K is still the way to go with these custom Dimarzio pickups :D

Cheers

Are these Dimarzios? I thought these were MM pickups. Which might explain the lack of wires where the coils connect.

Best bet is to contact MM directly. This isn't a standard model, and there's not a lot of info out there about it.

Here's the description from Pete's website:

This Steve Morse model features an HH pickup configuration with newly designed Music Man humbuckers & 250k pots, a larger profile roasted maple neck with an ultra-light satin poly finish, rosewood fretboard with stainless steel frets, and a reverse headstock. The body is gloss African mahogany with upgraded quilt maple top in Tahitian Blue finish. Limited to 69 pieces worldwide, these guitars include an autographed backplate and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

What a stunning beauty!
Congrats to the future owner!

guertzi - thanks for the copy/paste above!

I was originally a little scared when I saw that it had an "ultra-light satin-poly finish" on the neck - but it bears a STRONG resemblance to oil/wax because it's so thin. I think they just waved the closed can of poly over the neck and called it good - which is what I wanted! :)

Yup - african mahogany body - WHOO HOO!!!! :D
