what's the difference between the fender jazz and p-bass necks? is one longer overall and/or skinnier at the nut?

The jazz neck has a nut width of 1 1/2" same as a Sterling. The p bass, I think is 1 11/32"? Anyways the pbass is wider, similar to a Stingray.

The jazz neck has a nut width of 1 1/2" same as a Sterling. The p bass, I think is 1 11/32"? Anyways the pbass is wider, similar to a Stingray.

According to Fender.com, the nut on the P bass is 1.625". That would work out to 1 5/8".

If I recall correctly one says Fender P Bass and the other says Fender Jazz.

well, geez, thanks for being an american...
i didn't realize we could speak only of mm hereabouts. i stand corrected. i'm just a bass lover with a question about one-a them things over in the woodpile, what was kinda designed by the same fella what come up with yer mm. but i sure shouldn't mention *his* name, i guess...
