No wonder Jack is so happy all the time! I don't think I would be on the computer half as much as he is though if I were married to her. Good work Jack!

I haev to wonder if Erika sees all of these pics of her on bass forums, and just shakes her head. :D

Charles, calling you a troll is not in the same ballpark as calling someone a prick. A troll in an internet context is someone who baits others on message boards or forums, by asking obvious questions or trying to be controversial just for the sake of it.

I've never worked in a Fender factory, but I do know the difference between the necks on Precision and Jazz basses.

And yes, your wife has great legs. But I'm sure Bovine's wife has a better rack.

oh, i know what a troll is. i'd say that asking a question about bass neck widths is fairly harmless, perhaps a brain-fart, but harmless, whereas i'd say that calling me a "troll" on this forum is more like baiting. so, by your own stated definition, who would be the troll? and, golly, i'm just so darned impressed that you know the difference between necks on Precision and Jazz basses. Guess you nailed me there. Perhaps you should add that to your resume...

This has certainly turned out to be more fun than one would have expected.

BTW, welcome, Mr Inkboy. I haven't yet seen your wife's knees, but promise to go have a look later.

What sort of MM you thinking about?

hello, m'lord. well, i'm just dreamin' right now, really. there's a huge music store down the road, where i've found a teal/maple mm bass (don't even know the type--4 strings, 3 preamps. godalmighty, it plays sweet. i'd never tried one. they were legendary when they first came out (i was living in fullerton then) for having killed the dead-spot issue and for having a bad-ass, fattter-than-fat pickup unlike anyone had ever heard. they cost a bundle back then, and i got a factory discount on a '76 p-bass (walnut/maple), which i loved, and played through a mm folded-horn amp/enclosure. when my band broke up and i lost a guild acoustic to thieves and a 1971 Martin D35-12 beckened, i sold my bass rig (sign). well, it was only a 65-watt amp. but that p-bass was sweet. well, once i played that music man bass, i got the old fever. i love the sounds it gets, and that neck fits my hand real nice (i play a jazz bass special and a rick 370-12rm, so i'm accustomed to real skinny necks), but that music man just kinda folds itself into my body (you fellas know what i'm talkin' about). long answer, but i get all swoony about these things (but i'm sure you wouldn't know anything about that) ;) ...

Hmm, well, I know a LITTLE about falling all over oneself for a bass.....I've had it happen once or twice, I guess, over the years.

they cost a bundle back then

A friend of mine was a dealer (instruments, too) back in 78-79 and he dropped a used Stingray off at my house. "You'll probably like this", he said, and he was right. Not sure I ever picked my Precision back up. I don't even really know what happened to it.

I guess I paid 300 dollars for that bass. Wish I had it NOW.

BTW, if the teal bass at the giant music store has a 3 way switch, it's a Sterling. No switch, it's a Stingray.

I'm sort of a Jazz bass player but the thicker Stingray necks feel mighty good to me. I just can't play regular precisions anymore. I'm not sad over it or anything.

Let me know if you need some questions answered. I may not know, but someone here almost always will find out.
