In what can only be described as a freak accident, all time great Jeff Beck cut the tip of his left hand index finger completely off while cutting carrots for a stew he was making.

Thank God it is the year 2010 as doctors were able to reatach it. He also now has insured each one of his fingers for 700,000 pounds. Here is a link to the whole story

Actually, it's 7 million pounds. I am a huge Jeff Beck fan and I am very concerned, not for his finger but his mental health. WHO DOES THAT?!?!?!?!

If you read it fully, it says that he has now insured each of his fingers for 1 million pounds  I would hate to lose any!

Of all people...not Jeff Beck, he's one of my all time favorites as well! Hopefully this won't render him unable to play normally.

If Iommi can do it without having his fingers re-attached, Jeff Beck can do it *with* having his re-attached.

Sucks that it happened, but he should be more careful while making dinner.

That's funny, when I first read this thread I thought of Iommi too.

JB will just need to play more power chords and less solos;) JB can play better just using two fingers than most players with 5:cool:

Well doesn't seem to have slowed him down ... if you've heard the new album, his playing is still as brilliant as it's always been.

Ah Brother Jeff....we must meet up and compare stumps...he only lives 10 miles away. Was just tucking into Carrot and Coriander soup when I read this :D. I wish I'd had my fingers insured for £7million ! By the way, I should be picking up my new silicone finger in 3 weeks, can't wait.

I just want to apologize for that statement, I didn't realize it sounded that harsh when I wrote it. I hope that his recovery is a fast and successful! Get well soon Jeff!:D

What a tragic thing for a guitarist to have happen, like Tony Iommi and Django Reinhardt. I hope he can return to playing in his own inimitable fashion, certainly one of the few true legends of rock guitar.
