LUm and I are off to see Joe in Glasgow tomorrow night, about 550 miles round trip (and a lot of red bull) - Please Mr Benz get me there and back and not on a recovery truck!

I've been on a journey, I cased all my balls and pulled out a les paul to get into the spirit of the joe gig - I hated it - I'll never do it again stupid exercise, but it does make you appreciate EBMM necks and body weights! - not to mention tone!

Anyway, I'm still gassing for a 25th, I think for financial reasons and my own sanity I'll still want to try one at the UK Bash but I'm 95% sold on one, oh yeah and this guys has one!

The venue Joe is playing in GLasgow is not camera friendly but I think I may have swung some backstage passes, so there might be a good gig report....
Can't wait to see the 25th and a Y2D in action!

And If Joe's got any of this eye candy a Morse Y2D and hopefully a 25th will be ordered - althought my BFR AL & Dargie Luke might have to go!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw...Please don't put me through it again Smelly....I'm only just starting to get over your BFR AL after the last time you were selling it. And the Dargie...haven't you promised that to your 4 year old ?

Don't worry Kev, the BFR AL and DD Luke are staying, if I fall in love with the 25th I'll sell my last les paul....

Hey up Smelly!

I've got a Y2D with fixed bridge just like Joe's. It rocks, big fat sounding when you need it to be but can do subtle as well.

If I bring it to LIMS I'll let you use it when we duel!

I like the idea that Joe doesn't have a signature model with all his little tweaks in and is more than comfortable with a stock model we all can get hold of.

I think it shows what great instruments EBMM guitars are that he is more than happy with numerous "stock" models.

See ya'all in London.

Joe bonamassa gig report glasgow!

oooOOOOOOOO wHAT A NIGHT!

Joe sure works a room - Lum and I were on the hunt for him around Glasgow, and just missed him at Guitar Guitar, Bill has a photo of him and Joe (Joe was ooking at a rickenbacker, but hey we all have off days!) - - (Whilst making 25th enquries!)

We also heard him sound check, what a tone, but the little ginger ned on security wouldn't let us in!

The gig was great we were up in the gods, and the seats were ever moving - this and no flash photography, plus the fact that I'm as good with a camera as I am with a 6 string indicates the mince photos! LUM took a coupe maybe he got some better shots, that and Joe runs around like a ninja!

I drove home and Mr Benz did glasgow to inverness in just under 3 hours (normally takes 5!)

Joe seems to have a new baritone>? - a ruby Red JP? - killer sounds, he went the whole gig thereafter on les pauls I was gutted,

then for the encore! MR 25th!!! - WOW ! I couldn't take my eyes of it and what a tone, he got great jingle jangle tones, then to face blasting solo tones and all from the volume pot!

I'm waiting for Bill Whitelaw at guitar guitar to come back to me with a price for a 25th, if the numbers are right then it's a deal without trying one!

LUm also spotted Kevin Shirley, he's posted a lot of shots on facebook - he had a better angle and camera!!!!

Holly Hell your devilness, I'd love a shot of your Y2d - maybe some of your dry skin will rub off the neck and talent me up!!! - when you say duel, do you mean play on headphones at the EBMM booth beforehand and forget about the whole playing in public thing???

Errr, no.

It means when you get up I will hand you my guitar and I will use whatever guitar the "duelists" were using.....is "duelists" a proper word?

See ya soon, I'm off to practice.

P.S. Saw Joe B last night in Sheffield, didn't use his Y2D but the Baritone and 25th were in attendance, what a tone.

Nice one Smelly thanks for posting those pics.- hey you seem surprised the Merc got ya there and back - I thought that their reliability was renowned?

Unfortunately I have a note from my mother saying that Kevin will be unable to attend Class/Swimming pool/Gymnasium/Sports Day/guitar duels with the Devil, as it brings him out in a rash!!!

I'm off here on Monday 10 mins walk away - no Merc for me !! ;)

I'm lucky I'm seeing my GP later, he'll sign me off saying I need a 25th to duel with the devil.....

Perhaps Joe will be able to spare his one now he's getting that amazing double-neck.

Great vid, that dude is awesome!

I can imagine he and Tommy Emanuel being quite a combo. There seems to be quite a strong TE influence in this guy.

The Y2d stayed in the US. We sent a 4 pickup Morse to the UK but the 25th won over! Now the double neck is in town and he needs to check it out before monday!

Hope we get a couple of shots on his new DVD....
