Hey, u talkin to me? NY
I saw him play live about four years ago when he opened for BB King and he was amazing! He wasn't using EBMM guitars yet but his sound, playing and stage presence blew me away. This was also the first time that I had heard of him. I would love to catch one of his shows. Give us your review after your show, it should be awesome...

Enjoy!

I've seen him live last month at a festival in Belgium.

He is indeed an amazing guitarist, no doubt about that. But I didn't really enjoy the concert. I'm more of a "band" guy, I like how a guitar mixes in the band, and I like other musicians to be able to show their skill. The show Bonamassa gave was just an ego-trip...

JB had a nice band behind him, but they didn't come through at all... It was just one guitar solo after an other. And, though I love a good guitar solo just as much as any other guitarist, sometimes too much is just too much.

This is just my two cents, I don't mean to bash JB at all. I love his playing and he writes some good songs, but I don't think I'm gonna see him play live again.

Twan he is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt....His core audience is guitar lovers/players....he he laid back then the guitar junkies that want a night of pyro guitar will be upset.....

Joe Bonamassa is a very very bright light in a dull guitar world. We are over the top happy that he chooses to use the JP Bari, the 25th and the Y2d and custom doubleneck

IMHO, go see him! His new band is excellent (not that his previous was bad).

I've watched him play on numerous occasions. He is a pro. He plays with passion, communicates with his band and audience, and if you get tot talk with him, you quickly realize what a nice guy he is.

When I try to summarize what I think about his place in music today, one part is that he is an ambassador of the blues, and moving the blues in a new direction. It takes a lot of character to be an ambassador, and he is the real deal.

The guy absolutely rips. I saw him probably 6 or 7 years ago at a small place in Rochester, NY and the intimate setting was just incredible. I have never seen a band work dynamics like they did.....you really went for a rollercoaster emotional blues ride. Simply awesome!
I saw him one other time after that and although his sound and playing was awesome, the feeling that was captured in that small setting the first time was just not repeated....maybe never could be though, just one of those things.
But anyway I say go see him to anyone that gets a chance.

My wife & I saw him last September in Stafford (Houston). Awesome show & terrific performance. My wife, who doesn't particulary enjoy guitar(s) or guitar rock music, also enjoyed it.
If you love guitar & appreciate good players, it's definitely worth it.
He opened up with Ballad of John Henry (not yet released at the time), & came out playing a JP BFR (baritone, I'm assuming, since the tuning sounds like it's in C). Blew us away!
Go check it out, have a few beers, & enjoy.

I saw Joe Bonamassa in Karlsruhe, Germany not too long ago and it absolutely blew me away. Such a tight backing band and Joe really is absolutely amazing, his playing wsa just so smooth and flawless!
I love the fact he's been getting really into EBMM recently.

I had an opportunity to see Joe and chat with him last year in Poland. IMO he's a great person. Humble off stage, a showman on stage :)
AFAIR He opened the show with Ballad of John Henry using baritone JP (this song was constantly on my mind when I was playing various EBMM guitars - I chose JP ;) ).

He was a huge Gibson guy but he has recently seen the light! Which shows how amazing BP's guitars really are...

Sooner or later, everyone Les Paul players back gives out...the 25th is certainly a cure for that, as well as covering more ground than the LP.

I'm going to see him at a 2400-seat venue in October, I'll be happy to post about it afterward.

I feel like that's why John Mayer doesn't get as much respect as he deserves -- because he goes more into the opposite direction (at least before the blues stuff). I have friends that thought he was a bubble-gum pop singer until they saw Where The Light Is.

I have not seen him live, but I bought a DVD concert of his, "Live at Rockpalast". It is in Germany. Based on this show, I will definately see him play if he comes to Cleveland.....maybe the Rock Hall ??

My wife even liked the show!
