Makes sense BP. Many JP owners have multiple JP's in their arsenal, which by contrast perhaps an Eric Johnson sig strat owner may only own one (speculation).

Thanks cerebrix! Those were quite humorous. I really think John would be very fun to hang with after watching those.

I never really thought about this too until mentioned. I can certainly see the similarities between the LP and JP lines e.g. a unique in design signature model that has expanded into a line itself, containing various different models. In fact, the more I have just stopped and thought about it, all the signature models from MM have seem to have done just that. No doubt the fact that their guitars, being unique in design and not just another variation with a different paint job and name slapped on the headstock, contributes highly (amongst a few other factors) to the success and longevity of the model (and line).

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but with a business crowded with signature models from all angles, it's very easy to forget this, which I guess I must have done really until now.

If John was to ever develop a sig model with Musicman, which I definitely think he should :D, given his diverse needs, I'd imagine and hope much the same would happen with him, where we would see it more as a signature line containing a variety of different models. I'm sure many of us would love to see more of that Gold Semi-Hollow Reflex as a nice starting place!

BP - thanks for the insider's reality check. Obviously much goes on outside of the public eye, and unless those on the inside "open the door" so to speak speculation is bound to occur. Which often descends into trolling (unfortunately).

If anyone remembers, way back there was skit on Dave Chappelle's old show with John Mayer ... white people dancing. Hilarious.

That show was sooooo funny. Remember the episode when Charlie and Eddie Murphy played basketball against Prince and the Revolution..."shirts vs blouses"? Charlie Murphy is so funny.

Well I appreciate the welcome back coming from you BP! I know JP sells guitars by the boat load and is a huge endorser, but I never knew that big! Only because you always would state how small EBMM is in comparison to say Fender or Gibson and since we don't get to see inside info the way you do, I just figured he would of ranked at the top.I never meant to imply that JB stopped playing his EB guitars, as I could easily dig up an old thread of mine from a year ago that stated he probably was the biggest endorser of EBMM guitars who wasn't actually a guitar endorsed player. For almost two years he was playing 4-5 killer custom guitars you guys built for him at his shows and fans on his website kept asking about them. I remember you stating that Gibson was very cool about it, but I also noticed they slowly tried to match each with one of their own- Les Paul with reverse Firebird headstock/ The Felder double neck- then the SG Baritone- then the 3 pick up Explorer lol.All of these appeared after the custom guitars you guys built him and all the kudos he got on his web site on his EBMM guitars. I just felt like Gibson (no matter how cool they may have acted) they tried to have him weed them out. Then again for a guy who admittedly owns over 300 guitars it told a lot about what he thinks about his EB's with his heavy usage of them. The double necks that were built for him are honestly the coolest, most beautiful Double Necks I have seen built by anyone=Lucky B-----!lol

ok now put two plus two.....we are very small and we make one of the biggest signature guitars...

Sig guitars arent good sellers....they stroke the aritists ego or provide them with a tool....and put handcuffs on them.

the general public doesnt care therefore the retailer doesnt buy them.

JB doesn't even play his own original signature model Goldtop much live anymore. In the recent shows I've seen (live and recorded), he's played mostly his vintage LPs (or possibly replicas of some), a couple of his quirky custom Gibsons that he commissioned, and his Blackburst Dark Lord. The guy definitely has a huge arsenal from which to choose. Amazing.

Happy to hear JP's sig guitars are among the best selling, I always thought Steve Vai's Ibanez stuff was way ahead. I would love to see Jerry Cantrell join the EBMM family, I know he is pretty affiliated with G&L but he plays alot of different guitars but I have never seen him with a Music Man.
