We all know of two JP BFR prototypes, the Silo 20th one and the one that can be seen on the Dream Theater Systematic Chaos DVD. But does anyone have pics or info on some of the other prototypes? I'm just curious.

By the way if you guys have pics of the two prototypes I mentioned you are welcome to post them!

EDIT: If anyone has pics or info on the standard JP prototypes, I'm sure we'd all love to see them haha. As far as I know, there was the Black Fire, Black Sparkle, the blue one that he gave to Jordan Rudess, the blue one he used on "Home" on the Metropolis 2000 DVD, and the Pearl Redburst 7 string. Does anyone have a timeline of when these came? There was also a white or cream one on the Youtube "making of his guitar" videos.

Thanks :)

I really wish I had the money for a Koa BFR JP. But I'm perfectly happy with my regular one, and I don't think I would like the painted neck nearly as much as the unfinished neck.

But yeah those are some great pics, I really love both prototypes. I would love a BFR in Caramel Burst! The neck binding is very cool too. I like the pup rings on the 20th Silo hybrid one, but I think the production BFR is definitely cooler with the direct-mounted pickups.

I also seem to remember reading something about an unfinished prototype, with 22 frets and a set-in neck. I don't know where I saw the pics though...

Scroll up! :D

I love that guitar. It's perfect. I don't anchor my pinky, so it would be good to go for me!

I have a few photos of the short-scale, 22-fret neckthrough;

Thanks Octavarius! The neckthrough looks great. In that last pic, the guitar on top is a standard JP, right?

Well I don't think it would look so great on a JP without the maple top, but that's just me.
