hi guys I’m louiee Lou guitarist of Melbourne Australia, I’ve got an interest in buying a John petrucci Ernie ball music man guitar, but the real signature models in Australia start from $6,000 to 12,0000, even second hand their costly, a bit out of my price range, are the sterling JP any good, you can pick one up in Melbourne Australia from $2,000 to $3,000, are any models with the dimarzio crunch lab on bridge and liquid fire neck, any info would be appreciated, kind regards louiee lou

If you REALLY want an EBMM JP than you gotta do what you gotta do. If it takes longer to save, Ebay a kidney, sell plasma - whatever, so be it.

Buy once, cry once.

And not sure what your duties/tax would be like to import one from the USA, but may be worth some investigation!

Hey there, if affordability is a major factor then you have to do what is best for you. You might be more likely to find the Sterling version in a guitar store near you. If Melbourne is within a reasonable distance to commute, I would check one out there. As far as pick up types, I’m not sure but there is a link somewhere (or a google search) that will take you to its website that will have its specs. Pickups can easily be changed and are a much more affordable option.

None of the Sterlings have the piezo.

I've had good experiences on Reverb and Sweetwater gear exchange. Both selling and buying.
