56 sounds, for what? HAHAHAHAHAHAA

Sounds confusing....hmmmmmm

I need to distill this down to you guys. I absolutely love the "I onlyy need three sounds from my pickup ...because that is all I have ever been offered" Kid thes guitar is capable of so much more but the limitations of a cheap ass switch has kept the guitar locked until now. WE arent taking anything away from you...we are giving you control of your guitar. BTW there are over 3,000 different switching possibilities from a two humbucking guitar they will be web based..you can rewire your guitar in 5 seconds or less...Like JPs tone on a song...go to the gamechanger website and click on it and it is done in five seconds.

THink of it as crayons....Imagine growing up with just three colors....you colored fine. Art was based on three colors. NOw some guy offers you the 164 color box...some say...WHy. Some say look at the different textures and realism I can add....The reality is that if you only want the three still we havent taken anything away from you

I am suddenly much more interested as an Engineer than a guitar player. Seems like you have integrated a digital switch where before everything was mechanical. Can't wait for NAMM. :D

Does that mean you'll all dress as rubix-cubes for NAMM - Game changer???

(ok well I found it funny )-

I'd like an Ipad for pennies please....

But more than that I want me a game changer, might fall off the wagon in 2011.

Haha, I was thinking maybe Albert Einstein! Cause everyone at Music Man Slo are so flipping smart ! Everyone in crazy grey hair wigs with white lab coats carring clipboards.

I only need 3 to 5 sounds from my guitar. However, WHICH 3 or 5 sounds these are is an entirely different matter. The Silhouette Special gave me some indications to what I really enjoyed, then came the JPX.

I think the Game Changer is something I will end up going for indeed. My only question is, can it be retrofitted? If so, then sign me up for 10 sets! Heck, even my non-EBMM guitars will get a boost from this!

That's the most important part right there!

Hum yes okay. I was looking for an explanation, sorry if you took that for a bad comment.

And you responded well, so thanks

I love having options, but the biggest problem (which the Gamechanger seems to address beautifully) is switching between them in a smooth and seamless manner. There are so many interesting and useful combinations available, but you're stuck either flipping a bunch of switches (hard to do on the fly) or hard-wiring your favourite 5 or so into the guitar (limits the use of other potential settings).

The ability to program it using an external app and download those settings into the guitar (and to revert to stock very easily) is amazing. And i love that you've made it look like normal controls as well.

Sure, it's not for everybody... a lot of players are perfectly happy with their regular 3- or 5-way pickup selectors. They won't be impact it at all. But for those who like to experiment, this is fantastic.

Will it be available as an aftermarket kit? I would LOVE to install this in my guitars.

One suggestion, though... i think it might be better to have the "factory reset" button as something other than a 20-second push on the encoder. I'd just be concerned about packing stuff into the car and opening the case at the gig to find my presets are gone because the case got compressed or something... or it could "accidentally" get pressed by someone wishing to cause mischief. Maybe a recessed button inside the control cavity that would have to be pressed with the tip of a pen (or the tip of a tremolo bar)... just to give a little more insurance against accidental preset wipes.
