There was a 'silverburst' finish on something (a guitar?) at Desert Domination. I bet someone got pictures of it.

Maybe Rex (silverburst).

As you say HankSRay " I think you'll have to have some sort of record deal to pull that one off"

Me and my band Rhondda (check out myspace;)) are trying, but for my custom Ray I would be be willing to pay!

I saw them again the other night at the Gwinnett Arena they rocked the house!!! JOhnny played both the white and silver burst stingrays...the white one looks like it has a bat painted on it...

AFAIK, EBMM does not do custom basses. At least not as long as you're not a signed artist, or a large distributor.

How famous do you have to be before EBMM loves you enough to customize basses for you? Or is there a standard for that sorta thing?

I know they wouldnt do a custom bass for say you or me,but i mean releasing silverburst as a new color for the stingray and releasing his mr. death signature to the public. Id buy the silverburst color ray for sure, even if it was say afew extra hundred dollars.

Thanks Phatty, I figured it was something like that.

im not speaking on behalf of MM or anything but id assume that being able to expose tons of folks to a product is the key to getting endorsed by any company

also, from what I know, there's various levels of endorsement... some of my friends are endorsed artists: some get free strings, some get discount guitars/basses/amps and 1 guy I know gets a limited # of free guitars/year.

Yeah, I assumed it had at least something to do with the chances that you playing the instrument/strings/pedal/etc could bring in a sale. Interesting stuff about the "various levels". It makes perfect sense that it would work that way, IMO, even though I never really thought of about that aspect. Thanks again for the insight:p

Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!
