As BP would tell ya, the key to a successful marinade, rub or seasoning blend is not necesarilly in variety or quantity, but the careful balance and proportion of each component. I was born raised in the American Midwest to traditional Korean immigrants. Got good BBQ from both worlds. :D

I'd say it's worth a ball :D

Unfortunately, I had another mixed-result BBQ experience here in the Motor City. It was just okay. I'm just going to have to learn how to do it myself from bigpoppasmokers.com.

Korean BBQ is amazing, especially served with a side of properly cured kimchi. Wife and I like it so much we often buy steak, slice it thin, and cook it up on an indoor electric grill bulgogi style. Recommended.

Pardon my ignorance...

... but what exactly are Korean short ribs?

Cooking is one of my greatest passions, so I would really like to know.
I'm always in for some interesting recipes!

Now this thread is getting somewhere!!!

What about Santa Maria style BBQ? I'm sure BP will have some thoughts about that... I know it's one of the things I miss most about living up there. What can't anyone outside of Santa Barbara county get a tri-tip sandwich right?
