Well, I took the advice I was given and I just purchased a new chrome OFR and replaced the bridge, locking nut and springs on my Axis and I have to say that I am blown away by the improvement. Not only is the OFR response easy like butter now, the trem arm stays in place with no play, I don't have to constantly tighten the bolt undeneath the bridge because the bushing keeps coming loose and the tone, the tone is just incredible, a night and day difference. I was skeptical about spending the money to replace a part that I thought would be exactly the same, but I can see now, there is definitely a major quality difference comparing the two tremolo systems. I've always loved my Axis but now, I can't put it down. I know it's all preference but I just wanted to share this experience because to me, it was worth every penny.
