Can't believe it...all the heroes are marching on...

Nobody has ever made the keys sound so mean as Jon...a true master.

Cranking "machine head" loud...boy what a loss...

Very sad. I´m a very big Deep Purple Fan since the age of 13 or so (which was 1991) and saw Deep Purple several times - with and without Jon. On last years holidays I made a trip to Montreux just to see the place where SOTW and Machine Head were done.

Nobody played like him
RIP Jon

RIP Jon...

I'm stunned....

Was obviously far more ill than was let on. First saw him in '72 and many, many times thereafter.
Great musician and a true gentleman.
Thoughts to his immediate family & his extended 'DP' family. A very sad day.

A sad day. Although I have been a fan since the 70s, I will play Purpendicular, the album that really got me to love and appreciate Jon.

Very sad. Such a legend. :(
I haven't been this sad about the passing of an artist since I got the new of SRV.
Deep Purple has been one of my favourite bands for over 3 decades.
Nobody could rock the keys like he could.

Thanks for the music Jon. You will be missed. Rest in Peace.

As a keyboardist turned guitarist turned back to keyboardist I really re-discovered his stuff lately. What really hurts is John wasn't young and didn't die from some youthful misadventure or accident. He lived a full life and died from the same kind of disease that may come and get us at that age. So it hurts on two levels. 1. A great voice is silenced and 2. Another reminder of the mortality that awaits us.

Too soon, too soon

I took this news very hard last night. I'm a huge Deep Purple fan, and DP was the main reason why I had interest in music and why I started playing guitar as a nine year old. I always loved how Jon and Ritchie had always cooperated together in studio and live. Jon is a true legend and he will be always remembered for his HUGE part in Deep Purple and it's sound! Without him there never wouldn't be a band like we grew up and listened to! :'(

R.I.P. Jon Lord and thank You for the music and everything else!

Imagine having jammed with Jon Lord - he's given the guitar community a real thrill. Sad news indeed. A good time to celebrate the music he gave us.

I'm so sad, man. Jon lord was the sound of DP. He made the band signature sound, made the band bluesy and funky. A great musician.
