the worst part is that they denied about 300,000 people from getting to see it, hold it and play it. WE actually think it was someone working the show....of course we dont have any proof...no surveillance cams on the floor...We will have them next year.

That's terrible, BP. Hope you're able to catch the person and get it back.

Maybe people taking pictures or video might have some evidence?

Is there any picture available of "the missing one"?

It might be easier to track if we knew exactly what to look for.

Here you go

LOL...it's probably on Craigslist Wisconsin by this point. How is this not locked down or have a cable about it when displayed?

When I did a few shows with S & T, we used Hercules Guitar wall hangers. These come supplied with a locking bar that was unlocked when the punter wanted to try something. Hardly a 5 lever mortice lock but a small precautionary measure. All of the S & T staff had a key to unlock them.

Several guitar manufacturers do lock down their guitars. Many others have them on display and you can grab it an strum along, but you can't hear it. I'd say only about 20% of the guitar manufacturers provide some kind of listening station where you can play the instruments and get a feel for the sound. And even many of those don't have their better guitars available for a test drive.

For many of us, that's the only time we get the opportunity to play these fantastic instruments. So I really hope EB doesn't get soured on keeping the instruments available for the joe shmoe namm visitor.

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if the instrument is actually still in the convention center stashed away somewhere.

My guess exactly... I'm willing to bet money that this is stashed away elsewhere at the show and will make it's exit on load out. I've been there as an artist and had a very difficult time getting my own guitar into the show - and then getting it out of the show was even more difficult. The load out process is more or less you pack it up and when your booth is done they load you out... no inspection of whats leaving. So my guess is that it's still there... JUST WHERE!

That was my thought too, until I walked out during the 6:00 "doors are closing" rush on Friday. There were so many people leaving the convention center at that time that they stopped doing bag checks and waved everyone through - including people with gig bags over their shoulders. This happened with at least 3 people immediately in front Nick and me.

Not cool.

Long time don't been here and found out this bad news, I'm so sorry to hear that BP, I can't even imagine how pissed off you are, i hope this stupid f... can be found and give him a lesson. By the way, I will say this is all 'your fault'... yeah, for making the greatest instruments on the planet and having everyone envying your job.

Ok some lowlife decid.ed to steal the jp 15 7 string proto from the booth. If you see anyone for the next 4 months that isn't john Petrucci. W one of these they either stoke it or bought a stolen guitar

This is the dumbest thing you could steal. It's not like they can wheel it into a chop shop, put on a new neck, spray her down with a lime green coat, and roll it out of the garage. I guess the fool that took it is going to masterbate to it in darkness.
