Hi there,

since I bought my JP6 (second hand), I'm playing it and loving it more and more, to the point where it became my main guitar and I'm playing it more now than my Axis and my EVH. But I have an annoying resonance problem when I play a B powerchord on the 7th fret (and around it, a sample can be heard here).

I wonder what causes the problem and what could I do to eliminate it?

Thanks in advance for your advices

Check the springs in the trem cavity. They may have sympathetic vibrations from certain notes. Try placing a folded up paper towel in the cavity which will prevent the springs from vibrating to see if that helps you. It will not effect your trem at all.

Wow! Kudos to you Lou, for guessing the problem and giving me a good solution to fix it. It worked great!! Now I'm enjoying the JP6 even more. :)

Thanx mate! ;)

I work at a hospital and get small diameter latex tubing. That's what I use inside the springs.

I Use foam since it forms to the shape of whatever. Cut a piece about half the size of your spring, twist it up and use a small screw driver to put it in there. A lot of people use tape also but that constricts your springs from free movement. Also people who do not have springs have the same problem and thats why you see hair ties and tape around headstocks and bridges.
